Morna is doing fine... maybe a smidgeon quieter than prior to her spaying, but pretty much same personality that she had before. I really need to get some up to date pics of her and post them, but we are still going to the rehab facility to visit my daughter. She is now up and yesterday walked 52 steps, so she's on the way to home soon, I hope!!!! Happy July 4th to all!

Thank you for asking.. It's been tough keeping every thing straight in my life right now.. my daughter is in a rehab facility after breaking her thigh bone, the facility is almost 2 hours away from us, and we've been taking her dog and Morna w/us to visit b/c it helps keep her spirits up... ANYWAY.. sorry for not posting. Morna came through with flying colors. She was a little groggy the first day, but hungry and ate all of her dinner. ANYWAY.. sorry for not posting. Morna came through with flying colors. She was a little groggy the first day, but hungry and ate all of her dinner. Second and third days she was out and playing in the yard but not for long, and then slept more often than usual. Today she seems to be back to perfectly normal for her..which is full of energy and while she wasn't barking as much for the first couple of days, she is doing a little more talking, but still not the way she barked before. She has to have her stiches out one day next week. Again, I appreciate all the "support" and apologize for not getting back to you all sooner! Thanks again so much! Thanks Jamie.. Still no word from the vet's office... this is worse than being sick myself!!! At least I know how I'm doing :) We opted for the laser procedure b/c they told us it would be easier for her to recover, so I'm hoping that she'll be a little on the quiet side for tonight and then we can see what the vet says about activity and do our best to follow the directions.

I felt exactly the same way, but I was worried about nothing. As far as keeping her calm, it may be beneficial to keep her leashed for a while in the house. That way she's close to you and you can keep her in check if she gets too crazy. It's a difficult task, but they bounce back very quickly!

Sam and Bev...Thanks for the "cheering up".. Sam, how do I keep a very healthy 6 month old Corgi immobile? That may be the hardest part of the whole process. Morna is, during her waking hours, a perpetual motion machine! I'm hoping that she'll be done and ready to be picked up by 5. The vet closes on Friday at 5, and if she's not ready to go, she'll have to stay overnight, I think. I'll keep you posted about how we do. Thanks again!

I always am nervous after dropping them off so I understand what your saying! She will be fine but you will suffer longer than she will. Sparty is ten and has managed to have several procedures requiring a stay at the vet. Just last week he had his teeth cleaned and I was worried all day about him. He was fine that night when I picked him up and by now has forgotten all about it. I am still a little traumatized!!

Yes Edie, it is a very routine procedure. Your work for the next week is to keep her immobilize, keep the area clean and she'll be just fine. Prepare lots of yummy meal, she'll appreciate the extra attention :)
