Oh girl, you gotta get yourself a Furminator! The first time I Furminated our four pems, I got a 30 GAL TRASH BAG full of fur. It works like a charm. Now they have ones that connect to your vac so you don't have to bag it all.

Get a Furminator, and not a cheap knock-off either, but the real thing.
The good news is that if you live in a climate with a cold winter, the heaviest shedding is really a May-August thing. In the winter I use a slicker brush about once a week on Jack and that is plenty.
When he's blowing his undercoat, which takes a good month or so (as he starts on one section of his body and slowly the areas of loose hair start moving to other areas), I Furminate every two days or so. I've found if I do it every day it irritates him. Now he's shedding his topcoat, which IMO is even worse. There is not nearly the quantity of hair, but those guard hairs are stiff and work their way down into things, and they also come off individually instead of in clumps, so you get a handful of hair if you pet him. I Furminate every two days or so for that too.
We vacuum a lot, and the dog is not really allowed upstairs which minimizes the worst of it to the first floor. We only have one area rug, and the rest is hardwood, tile, or vinyl, which makes it easier too. I would not want wall-to-wall carpeting with a Corgi, personally. Frequent brushing helps a lot…tag:mycorgi.com,2009-07-30:1150197:Comment:4841422009-07-30T10:33:32.468ZBoo Buchheithttp://mycorgi.com/profile/BooBuchheit
Frequent brushing helps a lot. You will get to be friendly with your vacuum and broom. Around here extra fur is just part of life, and inspires me to do more cleaning than I might otherwise do. Just think you could have a plain old boring dog that doesn't share his extra hair with you.
