I haven't visited the corgi page in awhile and just saw the loss of Your Mom.So sorry to see Your sad news.My own Mom passes away in Jan of 2011 after a long battle with cancer, almost 6 years.Your mentioning Your Mom was also without the pain now. That is a blessing.Unless You've lived thru that kind of suffering,it's really a blessing for them to pass.Hug those pups tight. They always feel when We need that little extra love.Take care,Randy.
No meet up in central Il that I have ever seen in the past. Is the breeder from central IL, that your getting your new furry baby from? Can't wait to see photos.
Thanx so much for the friendship request :).An empty house is just not the way We should spend Our lives. My thoughts and prayers will be with You All as You choose that new furbaby to lavish Your love on.Take care.
I've been reading back through some of your posts... I am so sorry for your loss. We too recently lost a beloved pet. Our Springer Spaniel had a stroke on Christmas Eve, and we lost her three days later. We were, and still are to a degree, very devastated. She was a "pound puppy" and we had her for 16 years. To help ease our loss, we went back to visit the same shelter where we had adopted her, and found our first Corgi, Corky. We had never seen a Corgi before, but knew that she needed to be with us as much as we needed her. She has been a true blessing. A couple weeks later we had the opportunity to adopt another Corgi, a male, also from the shelter. Our home is again happy and full of life and energy. There are still daily reminders of our Lacey, but I know she is there, watching over us. I know your Stinky Wink is also watching over you.
Grieving can be a very long process. I think it helps to express your thoughts and fears after such a big loss. It can also help to have friends who can understand how painful this is. So keep us posted, and I will keep you and Stinky Wink in my thoughts and prayers.
Randy, I am so sorry for your loss. I still tear up when I talk about my Corgis that I've lost over the years. Like Lois Allen, I too found that nothing helped more than getting another Corgi as soon as I felt ready. I kept Dylan's (my Corgi before Lucy) bed in the family room even though Lucy never used it. Then we got Ricky and he sleeps on the bed all the time. Even Lucy has started to use it. I love that they use it. It gives me a sense of continuity. What helped me the most was writing out my feelings, time and a Corgi pup. It's good that you're sharing your feelings. There are also 2 groups, Corgis Remembered and Rainbow Bridge Corgis.
I am so sorry that you have lost your good boy. It is never easy but I hope you can get another one as soon as you feel you can. I have found it is best for me to get another one as soon as I can. Good luck.

Stinky was one well-loved dog.
Hey Randy, I haven't been out here lately but saw your post from the Illinois page. We are from Springfield.
Also, so sorry for your recent loss. February 17 was the three year mark that we lost our little boy to cancer at the age of 7.
