Welcome to the group, so glad you could join us! Sorry for the late welcome, I've been quite busy starting up my small business in addition to my full time job :)
Ham looks very similar to my dog. The same reddish coat w/sable. Even the spot on his head..lol. Petey is a Corgi/chi but you can't see much chi. His undercoat isn't as fuzzy as on a pure Corgi, but boy does he shed like one!! For some reason, the white neck hair seems to shed more. I hope someone responds to you about the shedding.
Allen Dog Park - Nope no registering or anything just go up there and let em go. They sometimes close the park if it's been raining the past couple of days so you might want to skip going up there if it's a drive and it's been raining.
awh so is ham. & thank you. how is he doing?, i just came back from a walk with lobo. he seems to enjoy it a lot. here in connecticut is cold so i usually take him out with his jacket for 15 minutes. cant wait for summer to come.
hope ham is doing alrite. take care
He's probably entering his teenage years, which makes all sorts of acting up happen. The best thing I found for that behavior was a squirt bottle filled with water. If Sidney barked inappropriately, I give the negative sound (we use "ack!", but folks use all sorts of sounds) and give a squirt from the bottle. They hate that. It did not take long for him to get the idea. Remember, you DO want him to bark at strangers coming to your house, so don't correct him for that. Well, I mean he'll have to learn that if you say "it's ok" or "quiet", then he stops. You might know the UPS guy is ok, but to Hamlet, its a stranger coming onto his pack's property. He'll need praise for alerting you, then learn to stop when you say so. Good luck!
