Karen - Thank you! We already plan on doing the water treadmill after reading a lot on the internet and then meeting with our Rehab Specialist yesterday. Sounds like it will benefit Jake greatly with strengthening both legs while not putting extra pressure on the joints.
Appreciate your feedback! Jill

Karen -
I was hoping I could get more information from you on what your opinion was on whether or not we should have surgery on our Pem's CCL tear on his left side. 3 doctors confirmed he had bi-lateral CCL tears. Jake had his first leg done this past Tuesday. He had a complete tear in his right CCL and meniscus had to be removed as well because that was a mess. We are definetely going to do therapy with him and are hoping that with that, we won't have to go through surgery on the left leg. He is so miserable after surgery and I don't want him to have to go through this again (or us!). It's hard work for us but we have to do it for him. Jill

BTW, your Cori sounds a lot like my Aussie, Sky. He was also a very hyper puppy (still is a lot of the time!) but also loving and wanted to make me happy. I feel certain that if I had used harsh methods with him, I would not have the dog I do today. I love that he looks forward to learning new things and enjoys "submitting" to me without me having to force it. I hope to start agility training with him soon as well. =)

Karen, thank you for the encouragement! I was starting to get discouraged that most of the comments were about how well rollovers worked on their dogs. I did a lot of research on training methods when I got my first dog a while back and decided that the submission methods were based on outdated, flawed psychology. I know that I have made the right decision for me and my dogs and am glad to hear that others agree as well. It can be hard to stand up and go against the pop training methods everyone sees on a certain someon's TV show! Thanks again!

Hi Karen,

Thanks for the nice comment about Ben's run - he is an awesome dog. I have been working as a vet tech also - I have always wanted to try freestyle.
