Hey!
We're sad to hear you guys left the area :( But glad to know you're all doing well in "The Valley". Yeah, all three of us are doing great, Mr. B comes to work with me almost everyday, so he loves all the attention he gets from my coworkers. And since Erica and I both work in the LA area (I'm in WeHo, she's near downtown) maybe we can coordinate a corgi play date after work sometime. Wish you guys all the best! Ree,Erica & Mr. B.
Your picture is great and it is nice to see you belong to the 1 tri and 1 red/white corgi family. There are a few of us on here. Some of us think that tri's tend to have a wild and crazy gene in them.
I grew up in So Cal (So Pasadena) and spent many great days at Hunington Beach. Our boys love the lake (swim like fish) some day I want to take them to the beach and see what they think about waves..
So I thought I had replied to your comment.. but apparently I didn't, because I don't see it on here. So much for relying on memory!
Anyway, that's great you got Dexter from Poso Creek Puppies! It's great seeing happy, healthy Corgis from Kim. Conan is an Angus/Fanny baby. Who are Dexter's parents? We haven't been to the Corgi meet yet.. but we should go! I heard it moved. Is it at the dog park now?
Either you guys are wearing really elaborate Halloween costumes in the new profile pic, or you just got married... If it's the latter, CONGRATS!
The corgi tuxs' are a really nice touch!
When we got Mr. B snipped, we almost didn't notice a difference in personality... We thought he'd be really lethargic and sad, but when we picked him up from the vet, he seemed as good as normal. But we got him fixed at 6 months, so I don't know if he even knew he had balls, let alone miss them after they were taken away.
We want to plan another meet up too, especially since Mr. B's now a little too aggressive at Petco's puppy play group on Saturdays. We were also thinking of enrolling Mr. B. in some agility training too. We heard Long Beach's Park and Rec has classes available.
Local people! Small world! There is a large dog park in Pasadena

We used to go every weekend but it is the only nice public park in the San Gabriel Valley so it is busy!!! So we started going to Huntington Beach Dog Beach instead...more fun for my dogs who just love a good game of ball. Montrose is a great place for dogs! : )
Oh how cool! You're right, they do have very similar facial expressions, and they both have similar coloring along their front legs. How cute! I was hoping I'd find one of Nibbler's siblings on here :). How is Dex doing?
It was great hanging out with the three of you guys a couple of weeks ago! Thanks for showing us the doggy park in HB, Mr. B had an awesome time with Zeke, he really dug it (haha, get it? because they were both digging holes). We definately need to plan a doggy beach meet up. See you guys soon!
Spencer is 6.5 months. We are definitely planning a trip down to Huntingotn Beach in the next few weeks. I will reach out to you when we do. We can't wait to meet Zeke!
Hi! Our Leo was a year on Feb.04. Zeke reminds us of him when he was a puppy...specially by your descriptions. His ear is still floppy 98% of the time. When he is having his vocal concert or he makes a loud statement it goes up, but except for that it is the cute-floppy ear. His left ear went up as we were on a trip to Alaska on May 20 last year...so that makes it 14 weeks & we were waiting for the other ever since. We went to the vet to seek advice but they told us not to worry, sometimes it is just the case...& we love him this way. He certainly is the attraction everywhere we go with his floppyness & LOVES the attention. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Zeke as these little things are just too precious!
We take Mr. B to the Bixby Animal Clinic on Atlantic. We found out about them on yelp http://www.yelp.com/biz/bixby-animal-clinic-long-beach, and they've been great. The procedure is going to cost us around 2 hundred dollars and they're also going to implant a chip in him, I don't know if that's expensive or not, but there are several Vets in Long Beach, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one that's good for Zeke.
Mr. B's having some of his manhood removed today, so we won't be able to make it to Petco for the puppy play group this Saturday :(
But to answer your question, our vet told us that it would be safe to have puppies around other dogs once they've had all their shots, including rabies. We had to wait till Mr. Belvedere was more than 12 weeks old before we had him around new dogs since they had to give him his shots in stages that spanned over several weeks. It's fine if Zeke wants to play with other dogs that you guys know (who are caught up on all their shots), but I'd avoid any dog parks, dog beaches or actually to be completely safe... anywhere where other dogs have been. Some dog diseases (like Parvo) are highly contagious and is shed in the feces of infected dogs, but even after the feces has been removed, the virus can live for months in the soil/area. Parvo can be deadly, so I'd also keep Zeke off the ground (sidewalk/street/grass) if you think other dogs have been in the area. A puppy's immune system is still really weak at 8 weeks, so it's better to be safe than sorry...
