I assume (and I know what happens when I assume!) that Night is still being shown. Is there a chance when the breeder stops showing him that you can reunite the brothers? One of our Corgis was a rescue from a breeder that just didn't have the time and attention to take care of her little girl. She was the best gift we ever gave.
I understand completely. Corgi fur on the bed is like my husband's snoring keeping me awake. Grateful for both! I googled Gromit's breeder and found that Lucy's siblings may have been in the same matches. Not sure if they are littler mates, but same sire and dam as Lucy. It's a small Corgi world. Hope it stays that way! Nothing comforted me more than getting Lucy when we had to put our 14 year old Corgi (Dylan) down! She is a spark and a joy.
OK. So I'm confused––my normal state of mind. Who does Night live with? He's a beauty like his brother. PS. You are right in not allowing your Corgis in the bedroom. Lucy sheds like crazy, yet, we love to sleep with her. Never again!
Doug, I just realized that I accidentally welcomed you and Watson to Corgis remembered. I corrected the mistake. Forgive me Gromit. PS Love the name Gromit.
By the way, I looked up Musselshell, MT on the map and you guys really are way out there!
We are still 16 mi S. of Musselshell in the Bull Mountains. Fresh, clear air, no trains, no planes and no automobiles...
Maybe you should start a Corgi Dude Ranch so all the city slicker Corgis can get back to their roots?
Now, THAT's an interesting idea... that would be a fun thing to do!
@Gromit & Doug-Your mom would be appalled (as our 3 grown up kids are) that Lucy sleeps on our bed nightly. Actually, I'm appalled each morning when I see all her hairs on the tank tops I sleep in. Yet, Jack & I sleep so much better when she's snuggled next to us. PS Yes, she has kitchen rights too as our kitchen is part of our den (the area she was initially delegated to, before she got run of the house and us!).
I just read your remembrance pages for Watson and Tinsel. Made me cry. So touching and beautiful. Watson looks a lot like my LaVerne. ( shhhhhhh....dont tell her I said she looks like a boy! )
Nothing like a Corgi. They've got it all in a small-med. size pkg: smarts; humor, protective nature & scratch the surface...a sweet-sensibility. We love Lucy so much that we refuse to "remember" her birthday. To us she's always 2 years old!
PS She has lots of herding instinct: herds people ankles (if permitted!) and runs in huge herding circles on the back lawn. Gotta get her to a herding class.
Doug and Gromit,
This is a long story but here goes. I started raising blue heelers, red heelers about 30 years ago. At times they are great, when they kill the cat or the chickens or lay in the shade all day every day, only to get up and bite somebody coming to the house, you get tired of them. I cannot stand Border Collies, the nervous attitude and the you cannot be friends with them irritates me. Yes they can do wonderful things when properly trained but I like to be friends with my dogs and the really good Border Collies have to be kenneled unless working or they won't obey. I saw an Add for Icelandic Shepherd puppies and bought one of them to try. They are nice dogs but not what I wanted, I still have her, she is 14 or something like that. Then I saw a Corgi on the TV and thought that is one cool dog and if they herd I want one. Took me two years to convince the wife I needed one. She finally gave in and I got one for my birthday. He was awesome, he would work till he could not walk, started shaking if you said cow, and we both feel in love with the breed. They will work, be your friend, be your playmate, they are just good dogs. Why would you want anything else? Corky got killed and so we decided to replace him with two, which lead to four and they all want to work for you anytime, anywhere. They are wonderful companions no matter if I am working cows or swathing hay, they want to be with you all day and all night. They cannot go for a 20 mile ride to gather cows like other breeds but they will for sure give you licks when you get done with what you are doing. I cannot imagine not having them
Thank you!! I always wanted a Corgi and a mini dachshund. Now that we got Conan I think i want another Corgi!! The wiener dog is my friends, she has 2 dachshunds 1 of them wanted nothing to do with Conan it was so funny. P.S Gromit looks sooo cute and cuddly =)
Thanks for your nice comment. Isn't agility the best fun? Bertie had no concentration this Sat. in our weekly class -- he was consumed with spring fever and an ardent desire to clean the area of all dropped cookies!
Hello!. I just wanted to say Hi, and ask a question. My corgi is also an agility dog. I am trying to set up a back yard course. I want to buy a Tunnel Like the ones you have but i can find any to buy. Where did you get your tunnels????? Thank you.
Greetings,
