Hi Gary and Shirley! I did contact the moderator of that facebook page. Thy gave me a referral to a breeder in Ft Lauderdale. I contacted the breeder and they replied, however, I got a message from them a month later that they are relocating to Indianapolis and no longer going to breed.
I found a breeder in Kansas City Missouri who said she would agree not to dock the tail, so long as I pay for the total cost of he dog upfront at the time of birth rather than merely placing a deposit. Since I live in California, it would be nice to find a breeder willing to work with me on this that is closer. I'm still wavering on whether or not the tail is important to me (I want it undocked just because I love a wagging tail, not for humane reasons). If I choose a breeder who agrees to not dock the tail of one dog in its litter- I will not Get to choose the dog based on temperament. The most ideal situation would be to find a breeder who doesn't dock, but that's difficult.
I'm still reaching out to breeders who are more local (such as Bay Area) but I am finding better luck in getting responses when I do not lea with questions about not docking the tail of a pup or me. I'm not a PETA looney, I swear! I just have a heart that melts for a happy wagging tail!
