Dear Nancy: My 23 year old daughter, Kathleen, is a senior at Virginia Tech. The "mascot" and university community is called the Hokies, or Hokie Nation. She will graduate in May with her BS in nutrition and will be taking her GRE examination next week so as to apply for a Masters in dietetics. Yes, Kate has lived through all those extraordinary tragedies at Virginia Tech and my youngest corgi, Linus, has the AKC name Heronsway Land of the Hokies because he arrived here at home the day of the massacre. Honestly though, it is a fabulous college. Kate leaves today for Florida because the Hokies are going to play in the Orange Bowl! Hope you are both feeling better and Daisy looks like a sweetie!!!! Happy, healthy (I am a certified healthcare chef, too) New Year, Nan. All the best, Nan
I lobby primarily at the state level here in Nebraska. I work for the NE Rural Electric Association. I do some federal work, but usually just with the Nebraska Delegation--puts me in Washington DC a half dozen times or more each year. Session starts on January 7. Not looking forward to it too much. I'm taking the week off and it has been so much fun being at home.
Nancy, congrats on graduation! Thanks for the Christmas wish. Sounds like fun going to Tahoe to get your tree. We go to the same tree farm each year....Doggie heaven. Good luck with graduate school.
Cleveland... Wow I think it snows there right? We live in northern California but my mom originally came from Kalamazoo, Michigan. She does not miss the snow cause we just go to Tahoe and visit Matt to play in it!
Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes. We are having pupcakes tomorrow. my mommy bought me a stuffed big duck that quacks and I can grab it in my mouth around the neck and carry it around. C00l toy.
Anyway thanks buds. I dont know where I would be without all of you and the great birthday wishes!

Hi Nancy and Daisy...I do have a litter that will be ready for new home December 10...you can check out our page if you want to enjoy the cuteness! (We live near Sacramento)
Yeah we'll be selling all but 1 when they're born. Hopefully the puppies and mom all come out healthy. I hear Corgi pregnancies can be very stressful. I know what you mean about the dogs being depressed and that's the reason why we paired up Maxx with Lexi. Now they spend the whole day chasing each other around playing dog tag. I'll send you pictures of the pups when theyre born.
Thanks everyone for all the great emails! We just got back from a trip to the beach. It was a little cold and windy but the dogs loved it! Daisy has a best friend named Lucy who is a BRAT (half boston and half rat terrier) . Great day!
Hope you all had one too!

Hi Nancy, Can't wait to see more pictures of Daisy. We're way up in the North Country, but do make it down that way a couple of times a year. Last year we were at the Wine Country Corgi Picnic at the Saddle Club. Quite the event, I even took lots of pictures.
