I was just checking out your blogs (I came into all this late) and I am very sorry to hear about JD. I went through down a very similar road with my corgi Algernon, who finally lost his battle with lymphoma last March. He was first diagnosed with ITP when his immune system attacked his platelettes and he became anemic. After transfusions, immuno-supressors and steroids, we were able to manage his health for several years. Then, his spleen ruptured and they found tumors. He lasted another 9 months with little suffering - we were lucky to have him around for so long. He let us know when it was time, and I had to let him go. JD was a beautiful little boy. My thoughts are definitely with you.
I also see the good news that you are getting a new little girl! May she bring you much joy and many years of companionship!
We came home once to find a potato chip bag stuck on Siri's head -- for an unknown length of time. She'd panicked, pooped all over the house, terrified. After that, we got serious about garbage and dogproofing. We'd cut off the bottom corner of snack bags. Fortunately, the stiff bags are unlikely to collapse and suffocate, but dogs or children who get their heads into those flimsy plastic bags can, and occasionally do, suffocate.
Hi Sheila! Yes, we will be having the meet up in June again. Probably the third weekend. Would love to see you and JD again! I'm sure he's a big boy now. Keep looking at the group site. I haven't been able to really work on it, but will start planning soon.
I was searching for anyone in Iowa and found you I am originally from Ottumwa and am now living in Iowa City and I would love to get together sometime for a playdate. Let me know if you would be interested!
JD is sooooo cute!!! Your profile pic of JD brought back the stories I have heard on here of peoples corgis getting
their head stuck in snack bags and not being able to get them off and suffocated....be careful with snack bags....I wouldnt want to see JD get stuck! : )
My dogs are doing well. We are getting ready for the cold weather! We are thinking about adding another cardigan next summer! We are hoping to get a blue merle. I'm hoping he'll be half as cute as JD!
Welcome,
What a cutie-these kids are stubborn puppies. Pumpkin was very hard to potty train, you'll need alot of patience. Just when you're ready to give up they make you laugh!! Good luck.
Welcome Shelia and JD. Glad to have you here. I have seen a few Corgi/Healer crosses. They make excellent working dogs around cattle. Plus they are too smart for words!

Thank you for the cute Corgi gift! You can't help but smile when you see it. :)
Your JD is adorable. What a great mix!

I'll keep it in mind though! JD is so cute!
That shouldn't be a problem. Just watch him. If he is too young to be neutered, than he is probably too young to cause any trouble in that nature.
Of course you are welcome to bring him still!
See you tomorrow!
Carmen :)
