</a><br />Backcountry skis are generally a faster transport than snowshoes, but snowshoes are simpler and arguably better tracks for corgis. The jury is out. Al has gotten quite sore feet from successfully keeping up with me on skis going downhill.

The thin low clouds just under the sun (at 0:37) are at Cady Pass, the ancient route across these…

The thin low clouds just under the sun (at 0:37) are at Cady Pass, the ancient route across these mountains. You can't see it in this light, but at 0:43 in the white bowl below us, 52-5400', is a very recent large slab avalanche, very unusual for June.
