I recieved a phone call from my dear friend Lynne over the weekend. She told me that she had taken in a foster dog and was wondering if I could come spend some time with her. I was instantly excited! She told me she was some kind of mixed breed, maybe heeler, husky, with some corgi in her. She said that some man had brought her to the Lane County Animal Shelter because she had been wandering around his neighbor hood for days and he had thought that someone had abandoned her.

When I got to Lynne's house "Lincoln" was the name given by the pound came out of the rose bush to greet me. She didn't appear afraid or timid and was super sweet. We instantly had a connection. She was light brown and white with a bushy long tail, she has some white on her face which makes me thinks she is around 6 or 7 years old. Her fur really resmbles a corgis coat, but I don't know for sure.

I sat and petted her for about an hour and then we went for a walk. She was great on the leash and healed right by my side the whole time. We walked along the busy bike path in Eugene. She didn't seem afraid of bikes or other dogs although she wants to go up to small children, which makes me think she has a family somewhere.

The next day I went back to Lynne's house and took Lincoln for another long walk. Every minute I spend with her I become more attached. I went to Petsmart and puchased a FURmigator because Lincoln was in desperate need of some grooming. I swear I took at least a pound of fur off her and she was looking great! We got back to Lynne's house around sunset and I lied in her yard and petted her belly then said goodnight. I can't wait to go back to see her tonight and take her for another long walk. She is such a sweet dog. If she has a family somewhere I want her to be with them, but if she doesn't I would LOVE and want nothing more than to adopt her!!!!
