I can't tell if Four and the cats like each other. He just wants to play. They don't back down. Will they ever all take a nap together and be friends? That will be a fabulous picture :)

The answer to your question is on slr's page - there is a photo titled "Peace"

My cats have all found ways to tolerate or even like the dogs. My 14 year old cat just moves slowely through the corgis and does share the bed with some. My younger one plays "chase" with them. and the outside cats are split between leaving them alone and staying away and just laying on the deck ignoring them. They all have their relationships and do well.

When I got Becca she had never been around cats. Mokey, my cat, LOVED my last dog. I think it was a harder transition for Mokey than Becca. They are not best friends, more like roommates that tolerate each other. I had to teach Becca cat manners. Mokey will just look at her like 'what do you think you are trying to do'. She doesn't back down, but doesn't slap her either.

I don't know if they will every be friends, but they will come to a mutual understanding and tolerance of each other. I have had Austin 6 years and one cat was already established and one cat is newer.  Austin's main goal is to herd the cats - outside if he can get them or he keeps them in a corner until I release them.  So I never had aspirations that they would ever be close.  Imagine my surprise one day when I came home from work and Austin and a cat are asleep on my bed (not close by anymeans but on the same bed).  Austin will not even spend time on the bed with me.  I am sure he was trying to get the cat outside but the cat refused to budge and Austin got tired of waiting. So maybe they will work it out eventually.

When I saw the pic, first thing that came to my mind was the main theme of "The Good, The Bad & the Ugly".  Cool pic BTW. Give them time.  It will work out.

Job #1 for all Corgi's is to be cute! rule #2 run away all other critters from the area. rule #3 be cute. Yes they will become the best of friends, they just have to work out the details. Who sleeps where, who's food to eat first.  My toys--my toys, Corgi rule #4.

Have you ever tried to pick up the cat and let your dog come and smell him him under your control(control of the cat and dog)?  It's another way to show the cat that the dog won't hurt him/herself and you would be able to control the dog if he wanted to bite the cat and it would show the cat that you have control of the dog.

When I went to get Chuckie, the breeder told me that almost none of her previous puppies were  ever returned except for one because the dog would chase the chickens and she couldn't have that happening.  I thought to myself, well, that's something every dog owner has to spend time working on if they don't want their dogs to chase chickens.

Well, easy to say until I was put to the test.  My parents raise a lot of chickens and they had a bunch of chicks that just left their mom so, they weren't so big yet but, not fluffy anymore also.  All my parents chickens/chicks are free range so, when Chuckie saw them roaming about he went crazy.  He started chasing them excitedly and scattering chicks everywhere!

I wasn't going to allow that so, I put him on the leash so, I could have maximum control, told my brother to grab me a chick and brought the chick near Chuckie when he became calm.  I allowed him to smell the chick if he was calm, when he became excited, I corrected him.  I didn't know that the chick was going to peck him! But, it did.  The chick pecked Chuckie on the nose a couple of times and Chuckie just backed away and when we put the chick down Chuckie wanted nothing to do with it.

After that, Chuckie kept his distance from the chicks. He would herd them into one area, but, would not go so close to them and then when they were where he wanted them to be he would sit and guard them. I was so proud! Not to say that it only took one session but, it was always under my supervision when he was herding the chicks/chickens.

My 2 cats--George and Gracie--had the run of the house for 12 years when Lucy came along and after one year, the ideal relationship has developed: Lucy knows they run the house and the cats understand that Lucy occasionally goes to daycare leaving the house dog-free for a few hours. I.e. Lucy is ready to welcome them into the pack and the cats...well...say no thank you in a huffy kind of way. This may seem awful but it isn't. Neither Lucy or the cats are mean or aggressive. They all vie for my attention though which gets pretty funny.
