I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a question I had...

So my boyfriend and I are getting a corgi from a breeder near us and originally we wanted a red and white corgi but the male we wanted is no longer available to breed so she asked us for a list of male and female pairings we would like...so we gave her exactly that and one of the pair we chose she recently had them bred and the momma should be due within a month from the 25th of last month. Now what I was wondering is if anyone could help me figure out what color our boy will turn out to be...only because we don't know how the coloring works when it comes to pairing certain color corgis together...here are is a photo of both mom and dad...dad is on top red tri and the mom is red and white... Thank you for any input you may have. Gina ☺

You may find this useful, though it is difficult to know if a red carries a tri-factor (you can't tell by looking, or even necessarily by knowing the color of the parents)

Red and white is dominant which means the red and white could have only red and white genes, or could carry a recessive tri gene.   Depends on her family tree.   So no way of knowing without more info.  If one is pure red and white then all pups would be red and white.  If the red and white is a tri carrier, then there could be tri pups and red/white pups.

Will you get to meet the pups when you choose one? I would pay close attention to which one is interested in you also. Many times a pup will pick you and so if there's a few males...watch for which one pays attention to you:)

I wanted a female when I went to pick out a pup BUT Wynn chose me and I went with him instead of a female...best decision I ever made...I have seen this many times...they "know" too!!!!!

Ask the breeder what their previous litters have looked like.

They're both so beautiful, I can't imagine not falling all over oneself to get one of their pups, no  matter what color it turns out to be. :-D

I would ask the breeder as it depends on the parents before these dogs also. Ex: Wynn (red) and Livvy (BHT) only produced red/white and sable pups due to their genes. Sage their pup could produce both colors due to having a parent of both colors. I hope this makes sense.
