Okay so Einstein has been eating purina little bites.... He doesn't really eat it though and i have him on beneful for now until i get more money for better food. But what brand of food do you corgi owners prefer because i want to get him better food and something he will actually eat!
Thanks so much,
Tiana Poetzsch

The Canidae website has a store locator so you can find the nearest store to you. :)

Where can I find the Canidae food? I never saw it at Pet Smart or another pet store!

My vet said Beneful could cause bladder problems and kidney stones... most cases they have are from dogs eating that brand they said so we took her off of it. I feed Abby Blue Buffalo puppy and when she turns one on the 25th of Sept. we will switch her to the Blue Buffalo for adult dogs... or as soon as her puppy food runs out. I have also heard that Canidae and Taste of the Wild was also a good dog food. Abby loves to lick my yogurt container in the morning and the vet said some yogurt... a spoon or two is great for her digestive balance too :)

We feed a mixture of the Canidae grain free and Orijen (also grain-free). I'd feed just the Orijen, but the pet store occasionally has problems keeping it in stock, so I don't want to rely on it. Our girl loves both of the foods & her coat is super healthy.

We are now feeding the girls Purina Pro Plan Select. Its kinda expensive but they eat very little. Twinkie gets a half cup twice a day. We fed the Kirkland Premium Food when we had three dogs and everyone did great on it. I am not a dog food snob but I try to steer clear of grocery store food. I hope everything works out. I cannot imagine what its like to have a dog that doesn't like to eat!

Beneful is the only food that Guinness could tolerate, so we've kept him on it. He had horrible stomach problems as a puppy, and this was the only food we tried that worked. From the day we started him on it, he's been fine ever since. We also feed Finn Beneful too.

I understand that people don't think it's good for dogs, but it works for us. Guinness was only 17 pounds at a year old because he was so sick for so long. I personally have never seen a male corgi of that age be that skinny...so personally, I will stick with that food. Both my dogs are healthy and happy and neither of them has allergies. People can bad mouth it all they want, but it seems to work just great at my house.

I had my dogs on Purina One until I found out that's what was causing Laika's horrible allergies (she couldn't sleep because she was constantly scratching) so I switched to Taste of the Wild because it's grain free. Over the next few weeks their coats got shinier, no more soft poops, Orion's gas got better (its still bad, but not quite as bad) and they generally looked healthier so I've been using that ever since. It is a bit pricey though and isn't sold at Petco or Petsmart

I am going from Canindae to the Innova Evo red meat small bites. I did alot of research and the red meat bites is sposed to be very good. Just watch out for ocean fish meal. when it is a generic fish meal, its usually broken down with a chemical. So when looking at food with fish, make sure it is a specific fish listed like salmon.
