Oh Sandy, my heart is so heavy for you.  It just breaks my heart.  You will see your Yewbee one day. I just read Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul - My dogs life.  Stories from various people that feel the same way. Labus is 10, Bourdreux is 7, my Corgis.  Then I have a 14 year old lab. So I dread the day, but thank the lord for the days I have. I lost my sheltie "Tippy" how ironic, the day of 9-11. Another good book is the Purpose of a Dog.  Kinda sad at first, but it is really good. Just remember: "a good dog never dies.  he always stays.  he walks beside you on crisp autumn days when frost is on the fields and winters drawing near.  his head is within our hand in his old way".

I went through terminal liver cancer with my little 10 year old corgi-chow Yewbee in June of this year. The doctors estimated 6 weeks to 3 months from diagnosis, but it was much quicker than that, and on July 1, I had to make the most difficult decision of my life.

To be honest, I know that I had given her the best life that anyone could ever give a little animal, and that her little tummy was hurting from the internal bleeding. But the only thing that made it easier was knowing that Almighty God, the Creator of all life, was in control of the situation and loved her, as well as me. He gave her to me in the first place, and He took her back to be with Him.

If anyone cares to read it, there's a passage in the Bible that confirms that God knows how much we love our pets, and that He cares for them, too. 2 Samuel 12:1-3. Read carefully how the Lord gave the prophet Nathan a message to give to King David - and the example that He used in the parable was a special relationship between a man and his little animal. If God Himself realizes how much we love our little pets, that gives me assurance that He loves them as much or more, and will do what is best for them. After all, does He not do what is best for us, even if we don't realize it at the time ?

Jesus is Lord of all creation - including all the little Corgis !

My corgi Korey went to church with me on the 4t Of July last year. We were doing a musical/presentation/choir-thing that showcased different random things about every state and somehow we were able to fit Korey into it. :D Everyone loved her.

Just thought I'd share that...

April 30th 2011 is the Atlanta Humane Society pet parade fund raiser held at Piedmont park. It would be great to get a group of corgi's walking in this parade. The website is www.atlantapetparade.org for further information. Registration is $30 so I thought I would put this out early so we all have time to get our fees together. If anyone is interested in doing this as a team or group please contact me
