It was a bust. Wow, I had forgotten about that. There was one corgi and the rest were dachshunds. I have seen corgis (besides yours) every now and then at the dog park though.

Let's do it! I've got two, one is on medical rest due to an injury, but he should he better in a couple weeks. Laura, how did that Doxie/Corgi meet up go? Are there any corgis we should invite from there?

I know some have tried without much luck to get interest for a corgi meetup in Tally, but I'm game to try again. Maybe we could post a flyer at the dog park for a little while and see who turns up? Old school, I know.

Aww, I'm sorry you can't make it as well, but good luck to Baxter!  I'll definitely see if I can generate some interest. I'm also anticipating being at the dog park more as well, so maybe I'll see you around again.  :-)

Thanks for posting that Laura!! I am so bummed that I won't be able to go. Baxter is competing in a UKC event that weekend. When you go, you should talk up the corgi owners and see if we can get a group to come out once a month to Tom Brown on Saturdays or Sundays. That would totally rock.

I just found out about a Corgi and Dachshund meetup at Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee!  Here's the information if anyone's interested: http://www.puppydoggies.com/2012doxiecorgimeetup.htm

She is on a reduced calorie Natural Balance food and has shed 3 pounds which the vet said is on par with what we can do.  I had to stop our long walks because of a back injury so that isn't helping. At 15, she is also more sedentary and has a heart murmur.  I am looking for a new house so I can get her a companion.

It can be really difficult for corgis to lose weight. Right before Baxter was put on adult food, he was about 4 lbs over weight. Not too much over weight, but it was a big surprise for me. Trisha, what is your girl down to now?

Jasmine,

I have a 15-year-old female who recently topped the scales at more than 32 pounds. She is on a diet and is on her way to slimming down. It is a half-pound at a time but she will do it.

How did you hear about these Corgis?

Trisha
