Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone was interested in planning or wanted to throw ideas out for this years corgi picnic.  It's been awhile since Carter has seen anyone of you guys and I know he misses his corgi buddies =D

~~Please send some love to Christina.  She planned last years picnic and is unable to continue to plan due to health issues.~~

Here are some of the ideas that have been thrown out there

- Freeport (Freeport Doggie Website) is where we had it last year.  We could do the same thing last time and do like a potluck type thing.  I don't know if Mike & Lisa wanted to plan it again.

Wasn't sure if you guys wanted to go to the same place.  I found a dog park in Hoffman Estates (Bo's Dog Park).  I've never been there but the park looks nice.  I'm not sure if they have day passes though and if they would let us have the picnic there.

Just trying to throw ideas out there. Let me know what you guys think or if you want to plan it =D

Hope to see everyone and their corgi's soon!

Did you see a drop box by the gate for money?
no, I didn't..
Hey it looks nice! I have to stick with the Sept 11 date. The 24th is my bachelorette party

I am wondering if you are allowed to put up ez-ups (or something like) for shade? Can you bring your own chairs? I didn't see anything about it in the rules in your pics.

I will definitely bring chairs.  I am sure we can use the chairs outside the actual dog park area and they might allow it under the large covered area I saw in the pictures.

They might not agree to setting up ez-ups, but we could try it.

Do you have an ez-up you could bring?  That would be great.

I have a 10 x 10 ez-up I can bring.  I have never been to a dog park so am not familiar with the rules and regulations.

sure hope something comes together....I NEED to attend a Corgi meetup!  =)

I have never been to a dog park too ! I will go with Lily and Jimmy this week just to check their behavior =) I am not sure if the dogs will come to me when I call.

We go to dog parks often and mine ignore me most of the time so they can play with the other dogs.  However, when I head to the gate and tell them it is time to go home, they come.

They might not come to you at the dog park immediately.  Be sure they are tired and call them to the gate when you are ready to leave.

Remember no food in the dog area.  That can start a fight.

Don't walk your dog into the area on a leash.  They feel vulnerable around the other dogs.

Keep your leash with you in case you need it.

If you are ion the big dog area, keep your eyes open.  Big dogs running can knock you down.  A woman here was knocked down, ambulance took her to the ER, and she had to have surgery on her leg.

no food!!!!!!!!! I was planing to bring with me bananas, apples and carrots ! And now...LOL

No food in the actual dog park.  Most parks have rules about that posted near the gate.

Just like small children are not allowed.  Our park says no one under 6 allowed.  I saw one when I was researching that said no one under 12.

for sure...it was just a funny thought, all the dogs at the park and my pockets full of treats =)))))

small training treats are fine just not other types of food
