Hi Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone was interested in planning or wanted to throw ideas out for this years corgi picnic. It's been awhile since Carter has seen anyone of you guys and I know he misses his corgi buddies =D
~~Please send some love to Christina. She planned last years picnic and is unable to continue to plan due to health issues.~~
Here are some of the ideas that have been thrown out there
- Freeport (Freeport Doggie Website) is where we had it last year. We could do the same thing last time and do like a potluck type thing. I don't know if Mike & Lisa wanted to plan it again.
Wasn't sure if you guys wanted to go to the same place. I found a dog park in Hoffman Estates (Bo's Dog Park). I've never been there but the park looks nice. I'm not sure if they have day passes though and if they would let us have the picnic there.
Just trying to throw ideas out there. Let me know what you guys think or if you want to plan it =D
Hope to see everyone and their corgi's soon!

this is the only info I found about getting the day pass
When I called yesterday, I had the same problem. I felt she was always trying to answer my questions with as little information as possible and then get off the phone. Several times I had to tell her that I needed more info or a better explaination. She had to put me on hold twice to get more info. It seemed she was not actually located at the park because she had to go get a map one of those times.
If people can not buy a day pass at the park, I think we are in trouble. First of all trying to explain to everyone that they must apply for their pass 2 weeks ahead and by mail is confusing and also many will say forget it. Others will not notice and show up that day without a pass.
Lisa (in the comment above) said she could go there today. Maybe when she talks to someone on the grounds there will be a different answer. If not, we may have to pick another park.
I really think we should do a potluck. It just seems more appropriate? And there's been alot of chatter and I haven't been able to catch up. Which park are we currently looking at?
And I actually went to Bo's before it was Bo's it used to just be Willow Dog Park. And I'm not sure how its exactly set up now, I need to just drive by but I'm out of state at the moment. There was a little playground thing across Lexington Dr. (its just a driveway not a street/highway thing) and I think it had tables etc. Or if anything we could honestly just walk over there and whoever has some card tables can do that for setting food on, and everyone can bring whatever chairs they have and the rest who don't mind (I'm 21 I don't care XD) can bring blankets to sit on the grass with the pups. I'm pretty sure the park cant tell us we can't have a little picnic around the playground. Especially if we're responsible and clean up our entire mess really well. I dont think there are any pictures of Bo's are there? When I get back to Palatine {my town like literally next to Hoffman} I'll take a look and maybe snap a few pics for you guys.
I think that we can do the whole potluck idea if we just find the most accommodating park. I just feel a picnic would make everyone so separate! :c If the Wisconsin people can do it, we can too!
I really wish you would have taken the time to read some of the discussion.
We threw out Bo's Park way back on page 5. They would not allow a picnic and they required proof of all vaccines including Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Para Influenza, Parvo Virus, Bordatella, Leptospirosis, and a current negative fecal test.
Well...
I went ahead and E-mail the park to see what reply they had about the passes. I just got this reply....
"When purchasing a one-day permit the same requirements and procedure apply. You can download the application and state what day you will be visiting the park or you can go to any of the facilities listed below. The fee is $3 per dog.
