Alex, Al & Aly- be sure to check out the Las Vegas Corgis page on meetup.com and/or Facebook.

We are very active on those sites with meetup events and general discussion on dog sitting services, vet recomendations etc.

Moving to Las Vegas in the Spring/Summer. Any helpful Corgi info would be great. Also looking to add a new Corgi to our family.

Hmm... I found the corgi in my picture there at the Henderson shelter in '08, and I've seen a few others come up over the years... Just keep an eye on petharbor.com and on the Lied site.  They'll be there.

People get them because they think they're "just *SOOOOO* cute!!!", and then dump them in the shelters because they didn't realize that corgis are stubborn, high-energy herding dogs who like to try and boss you around and can get nippy when excited.   So, don't give up hope... they're out there! :-)

A friend of mine did that for another breed and was very happy with the result.  I'm willing to travel to Southern California, Northern AZ or Southern Utah, so I figure that expands the options.

I can definitely tell you...corgis are hard to come by in town.  Was not able to find any rescues near by...and all the shelters are full of either pit bulls or chihuahuas...quite sad actually.  I have heard on this site that people have gotten rescues from out of town and paid to have them shipped to their home.  Personally I would like to meet my new pet but don't know if that's an option for you.

We're looking for a young Corgi-hopefully one that can play at the same intense level. Preferably a rescue or someone that needs a new home.
