Orion is just over 7 months old and weighs between 20-21 lbs. He seems perfectly happy and healthy but I'm wondering if he's too skinny. There is another corgi at the dog park that is about his age but much bigger in overall size.

We are feeding him 1/2 a cup 3x a day but I'm thinking about going to 1 cup twice a day. Thoughts?

Here's the best pic I could snap of him this morning, please let me know what you think.

Hi Paul and Carrie, no need to worry Orion's weight until he's 2, let him eat until he's done growing. 2 cups / day to start, then adjust later.

2 cups/day?!

I only feed mine 8 months girl, 1/2 - 2/3 cup/day and other treats for training... Do I feed too little? I am actually thinking she is a bit fat...

She should be over 23 pounds at this point...

Corgis fill out by the age of 2.

It depends on what kind of food, so it varies from brand to brand and your dog's activity / metabolism. Every corgi is different.

How much does DB weight now?

I think she should be around 23 pounds...I need to go to the vet and weight her...she is 8 months

But here is some pics of DouBao taken this week. Does she look OK? --- The one on my lap looks a bit fat though

Thanks Sam! We're going to up him from 1.5 cups per day to 2 cups and see how it goes. Also going to switch from 3 times per day to two. Any opinion on that?

Nope, sounds good to me :) keep us updated!

Will do!

Shippo looks like that now, he's 9 months and eating 2 cups a day already so I guess that means I need to up it :\ However I'm in the middle of transitioning him to Blue Buffalo Freedom to Acana Wild Prairie so should I wait until that's done?  He has become obsessed with eating sticks and grass lately so I'm thinking he's doing it because he's not getting enough to eat.

Correction, he just turned 10 months old today :)

I think he looks just fine. He sure is a handsome pup!

Thanks Sonya!

He looks a teeny bit scrawny to me and I personally would feed him a bit more. Better to be on the slim side than chunky though! Luke looked like that around the same age and we really had to up his kibble just to keep any weight on him. Once he hit about 1.5 years old we cut it back down.
