So I finally get to pick up my little butterball tomorrow at the airport. Cannot wait I am soooo excited. I have a few quick questions since it's been so long since I've had a puppy. When would I get his second set of shots? He's 8 weeks old. Also can he be around my golden retriever? I don't know if I should put him in a crate the first night. Or should he sleep with me? And does anybody know of corgi meet ups in the SoCal area? Thanks so much!

Nice! Actually, I got Oaklie from a rescue last month. He is almost 3, and I didn't think it was right to change his name.

http://www.meetup.com/SanDiegoCorgiMeetup/   Check out the San Deigo Corgi Meetup.   We generally meet at a dog park on the fourth Saturday of the month.  Other meetup are suggested, and we generally have a good time. This is an un-organized thing, so you just come if you want to.  Just to show you how crazy the corgi people are, the group were invited to two weddings last summer.   Check out the photos.

Congrats:) Crate him in your bedroom so you can put your hand in the crate to calm him a blanket with the litters smells or moms is good. If you can even get a couple tshirts or something with their smells and use only one at a time in his crate so they don't all get soiled is good also.. Do not talk to him or get him out unless it's to go potty. No matter how hard it is  he will learn better by you setting the rules right away. Let the dogs meet on nuetral territory if possible and see how they do. I have always just introduced them and things have been fine but my Aussie will growl at the pups BUT he wants them to stay away till they are a bit older/bigger and then they are fine. Socialize as much as possible but until he has his rabies and more shot he should not be around dogs you don't know or places that can carry diseases.

Ask you vet for the shots as I do mine at 3 week intervals so they can have their rabies at 12 weeks.

Have fun:)
