I just wanted to let you know that I finally "met" Ricky's father Cody Front and Center's owner, Stacey. We chatted online and then on the phone. She also is friends with the owner of Ricky's mom, Opals Sweet Pickles, who sadly died in an accident. Apparently both Cody and Pickles had very hard lives until they found their forever homes. I'm hoping to meet Cody and wish I could have met Pickles. Stacey shared a video of Pickles. Ricky looks a lot like her. Hope all's going well with you and that you enjoyed the holidays. Happy, healthy 2016!
It's been so long since we communicated. I went off mycorgi for a few years as life got too busy. But, I was just looking at some of your photos and wondered how you're all doing. I can't believe Wally was bit by a pit bull. Last summer, Lucy 9 yrs young, who never needed a leash when hanging out on the porch w/ us (unlike Ricky-Rafa, who can't be trusted one minute off-leash) charged a pit bull that was was just taking a walk w/ her owner. Lucy aggressively got in her face. We were so lucky that the pit bull was very sweet natured and not at all aggressive. We were stunned. While Lucy has never been one to want to go to dog parks or corgi beach meet-ups :( , we had never seen her behave this way. Needless to say, she has permanently lost her off-leash privileges!
Ricky-Rafa has matured into a Romeo. He's sweet-natured and always up for having fun. You once mentioned that you know where his father, Cody Front and Center is, but you never told me where. Do you still know? Do you have any photos of him. Hope that Wally recovered well. I can't believe that it was back in 2008!! Hope all's well w/ you and your crew. Please keep in touch. Wendy, Lucy and Ricky-Rafa
We're corgi fanatics and also foodies. We live in N Orange County but one of our kids lives in W Hollywood. Maybe our we can meet up at a pooch-friendly restaurant some day.
I just saw your friend request and am so excited that you know Ricky-Rafa's father. i can't wait to hear more! We love RR so much and any information on his fur-family would be so wonderful. We did get to meet one of Lucy's litter mates last year and it was so much fun. Thanks for "friend-ing" us. Sorry it took me so long to see your note. I haven't had as much time as I would like to spend on mycorgi. I do love this site. Happy holidays!
Thanks Susan! It is amazing how in tuned they can be. And I am biased too with corgis :)
They are the best!!! How are you doing with your auto immune issues, if you don't mind me asking?
Awww, poor guy, that is nice of his brother to wait up for him when he starts getting sore. I was talking with a lady at work and she was telling me about her daughters dog that has a tumor near its heart and wasnt doing well at all, only 7 years old...lance is 7 as well, hate to hear such sad stories like this. Hearing more and more stories of young dogs getting ill. :(
Lance has Inflammatory auto immune disease. His ears basically started getting hematomas in his ears, started with one ear and then got it in the other ear. The hematomas got pretty big, looked like mini balloons in his ears. He was diagnosed with this almost two years ago, we had Tucker only for a few months before Lance got sick. Tuckers been so great for Lance, you would have thought they were long lost brothers when we brought him into our house. Unfortuanately Lance just doesnt have the energy to play much with Tucker these days. When Lance does think he has the energy Tucker is going right for Lances ears as that is how they have always played, but Lance is now very careful with his ears, since this is what has been affected through his auto immune issues. It was so fun watching them interact and play.
Hello, Thanks for the comments on my page! :) We sure do enjoy them. I think you were referring to Lance (blue merle cardigan) as looking like an aussie for Halloween, yes he sure could pass as one...who would have thought you we would get two dogs for the price of one.. :P lol.. Lances ears flopped two years ago after being diagnosed with an auto immune issue. I so enjoy looking at pics of him with his ears up, but have come to enjoy him with his ears down the last couple of years. I read on your page on both Eva and Wally you rescued, thats awesome, they are so lucky to have you guys! We got Tucker (red and white pem) from our local shelter almost two years ago, and he is such a sweetheart. Love all the pics on your page!!
Oh that's too bad. I hope the owner felt terrible and sought some professional help! In my housing complex there is a pitbull or two, but we only see them in passing. There are some at the dog park, but thinking more about it I shouldn't worry much about Theo. He is so submissive, friendly, and non-threatening that I don't know why another dog could think of a reason to want to bite him. But I usually stick to the small dog pen at the dog park just to be sure.
Hi, Wally is sooooo cute, I love your pictures...so adorable!
Our Jillie does try to play with Cookie, our rabbit, she will bark at her. But Cookie is not afraid of Jillie and she will actually play with her. They race around the family room, its really comical to watch! Can you hold your rabbit and let Wally sniff her? Maybe if your rabbit is out of the kennel she will not feel trapped and she will warm up to Wally. I guess we are quite lucky that our pet family all get along, because we have three cats, another dog,Jack, jill and Cookie!
I hope Wally is doing well and recovering from his injury!
Hehe. Thanks! I wish his nose was still speckled, but it has since grown completely black. His paws are still speckled though.
Wally is adorable. :) He got bit by a pitbull? Poor thing!!! Was this at a dog park or somewhere in your neighborhood? I'm always curious because there are a couple pitbulls where I live and I'm never sure if I'm being too cautious.
