I currently feed my 4.5 month old corgi a cup of authority puppy food grain free in the am and then again in the pm. Does this seem good? Any thoughts will help he seems fine just curious as to what others do and what other foods if any are better and why?

We have recently changed from Blue Buffalo due to outsourcing of some of the vitamins and minerals from China and we changed to Merrick; made in USA, family owned and the CEO of the company contacted me by email after I inquired about grain free and I was quite impressed and Jozi seems to have stopped paw licking and some mild skin irritations have cleared also and she seems pretty satisfied with her new food.  Just a suggestion.

Thanks so much,
CK

Highly recommend Orijen by Champion Pet Foods. Bogart the Cardigan in an intact, very active male, will be 2 in March, and we feed him 1 cup in the AM and 2/3 cup in the PM. He weighs 29 lbs.

Bandit gets Taste of the Wild High Prairie Puppy formula. I feed her 1/2 cup, 3x a day. When the time comes for her to be eating adult food in a few months, I will be switching her to Merrick Grain Free.

What I feed Kenny is Purina One Healthy Puppy Formula (the lady I got him from) BUT I will be switching to Blue Buffalo soon. I also feed him 3x a day. I have never heard of that brand before but that is because I probably haven't looked hard enough hah

For dry kibble I always preferred brands like Orijen and Acana. I only fed an All Life Stages food and not a puppy food based off the rec of my breeder. She weans off puppy food at 9 weeks and specifically says no puppy food. I did 1/2 cup 3 time a day until 6 months. Then switched to 3/4 cup 2 times a day. Now at 11 months we're down to 1 cup per day. Any more than that and she starts getting chubby. I always preferred Acana and Orijen as they are Canadian (so much stricter guidelines and better meat practices). It's a 5 star food according to Dog Food Advisor and is grain free. Now we're switching to a prepared RAW diet as my pup needs a more acidic food for UTI issues. So far it's been great and it makes a lot of sense. We're even switching the cats to Raw as well! Good luck! Diet is such an important part of a dogs life. So many things depend on it.
