Well Teddy(my 11 year old rescue) and Tank at some point decided to leave the area. Teddy does not do this and being almost completely deaf I panicked. Took Wynn with me and started walking the fields near our place. Partway through I thought about calling the people who live at our other place and the lady said "so that's whose dogs these are" I was so relieved...she said she walked outside and here is this cute little dog rolling on his back and the other one just wandering around the yard. She laughed because they were so friendly! When I went to get them they were both chewing on their labs dog bones...that could have been bad. A GOOD ending to a scary time for me!

Oh Bev and Jane. It's so good to see your still posting. I haven't been on mycorgi too much and I miss it. So glad that all ended well for you Jane. And Bev, I know Sparty was full of himself like Ricky. These boys put us through some big time scares. Later today I have to share what LUCY, my perfect little princess did this week. You will be shocked. I know I was!!

Having lost some of my dogs in the past I can believe you were frantic Jane! I am so glad that it turned out good. Sparty was famous for going wandering until I finally figured out I had to keep him leashed on our walks in the woods. He could hear but got very selective about it when he found something interesting. Once Misty got away and my biggest fear was how such a big dangerous looking dog would be received if she came upon strangers. Fortunately she appeared at the front door an hour later very dirty and happy. Izzy is not a wanderer but I am pretty sure goofy Watson would so I watch him closely.

Jane....I can believe it's a male thing.  Even if they are fixed I don't think they ever lose their wanderlust.

Linda...maybe it's a male thing???? Sounds like they're the little devils but I think my males are also more attentive to me than my females! Teddy could be 20 feet from me and not hear me he now comes when I wave my hands and clap...can't find a dog like this if they're lost. I won't let them 2 out together anymore:(

So nice to see you on here Wendy...where in the heck have you been???? Maybe it's our Corgis that lived not-so-good lives before they found us that are the little stinkers???? Glad Ricky is fine...how is the little guy doing now??????

So glad you found them and all was well!  Stinkers!

We had problems year with kids going into our yard to retrieve their balls.  They would close the gate but you have to really make sure it's latched...and they never did but from our deck it looked like it was.  Max, the brat and the brains of our corgi duo, always pushes on the gate to see if it will open.  When it does he is gone in a heartbeat.  Katie, bless her heart, doesn't leave the yard even to follow Max.  After me running around in my bathrobe at 6 am one morning and then again twice at night we now have a padlock on the gate.  The worst was him being gone for an hour at 10 pm.  I'm out there in my bathrobe and slippers walking all over including on the main streets while my husband was driving around in the truck.  Where was the stinker?  About 40 feet from our house sniffing around in our neighbors shrubs but with them being so short and it being dark would couldn't see him.  And of course he has a taste of freedom so he wasn't going to answer.  And he was trained to know better too.  He has no problem coming if he knows you see them tho.

Whew! Ricky did the same thing to me last summer. It was our first day at our beach house in Long Beach, NY. We left R & L in the newly fenced backyard for maybe 30 minutes. We got home and a neighbor was walking Ricky back home on his dog's lead. He found Ricky cruising the main road by the boardwalk. Ricky broke down a piece of the fencing. Lucy stayed in the yard. He's is clueless about cars. The difference between girls and boys!!! Happy that we each dodged a bullet. Needless to say we had the fence reinforced.

Thanks Katie...had he been in a field I may have never found him. There's nothing around us but fields so I was very lucky they went where they did. Teddy also is clueless when it comes to cars:(
