I've been keeping a pot of cat grass going for Mokey so she will leave my plants alone. Becca now thinks a few sprigs of grass is a great treat. I've been giving her a few pieces whenever I'm in that part of the kitchen. It makes sense that Becca would crave grass as much as the cat. Has anyone else given cat grass to their dog? Suppose they will start marketing it for dogs as well?

I haven't given mine cat grass but mine sure love to eat regular grass!

Ein also eats grass - loves it. I've had her and the horse on leads, both chomping away at the new grass. Heh very funny!

"Cat grass" is just another word for wheat, rye, oat, barley, or flax grass.  :)  It's probably marketed toward (or named after) cats because cats do exhibit a certain fondness toward eating it.  However, both of my dogs will eat grass in the yard at times.  And I've certainly caught them nibbling on the occasional pot of pet grass that I bring in for my two cats.  Though most of the pots I pick up are termed "pet grass" and even include rabbits and some sort of reptile on the label.

You answered my question. I never heard of "Cat Grass." Barley is the only thing that seems to alleviate Sully's constipation. Since she does eat grass occasionally I may look into growing some barley grass.

Just read the label of the grow yourself packets, many are a mix. Mokey prefers oat grass, I found a brand that is just oat. My mothers cat will actually dump out pots of rye grass also preferring oat.
