Dougal proves Law of Conservation of mass!

If the food intake is restricted (165g / 6-7 ozs of high fibre kibble) and the poos are getting larger (and they were never small!), then QED the corgi must be shrinking....and he is: big boned (that euphemism cuts across species) Dougal has lost a kilo (2.2 lbs) so far. There may actually be a waistline lurking under that fluffy coat and his belly doesn't appear to be quite as close to the ground. Now if only I could apply the human equivalent to myself!

@ Linda: NINETEEN pounds!??!? My goodness...that poor little dog. Great work, getting him down to normal. <3

Just to bring you up to speed: Dougal is now weighing in at 18 kg (still a tad above breed standard, but you know the euphemism"big boned" may actually apply). So he has lost 4 kg = 8.8 lbs since we started curbing his food intake. Mind you, Miss Bella has put up 2 kg in the interim......and I'm holding my own & admitting NOTHING!!!

Let's not forget a nice cannoli for dessert with that pasta! Gotta go--- time to make dinner! :-D

Teacher here, too --- and I get what you mean by the babble business; it doesn't fly with me from politicians either.

My first trip to WW over a decade ago was quite successful, but as the need has arisen each subsequent trip brought about less and less success: as a Secondary (High school) teacher, I use alot of what I refer to as pseudo-psychological babble on my charges. However, when that nice Leader tries to do the same thing on me, I can see her coming a mile off!!!

Can I have grated full fat parmesan on my pasta?...& a nice glass of robust Chianti.

Dougal, its good that I can exercise will power for you: that's enough exercise for me.

ha ha! Me, too. Pass the pasta first, please.

I wish that's how it works, Vicky. WW doesn't provide food--- you still have to have the will power to choose correctly and measure it out into appropriate portions. It'd be like putting out a dish of a portion of high quality kibble and a bag of low quality salty and sweet kibble and letting the dog make the choice. Before Sophie had chemo and still had the typical corgi appetite, she'd eat all of it if we'd let her! I'll eat the salad --- and the big bowl of pasta, too! :-D

premeasured food and treats for humans...isn't that what Weight Watchers does? :-D

Comment by Chris Payerl on July 17, 2015 at 6:54pm

Good for you Dougal--- and you, Frances. I agree with your last comment. I'd need someone to come in and give me premeasured amounts of food, limit my treats intake, and make me go "walkies" too!

Oops typo: for 'of' read 'off'

If I lost 2.2 lbs of myself, I'd be thrilled!!

Mind you, I would have to forsake fermented red grape juice and other pleasures: can't see that happening anytime soon.
