Good Morning!  I have taken in a Corgi Pup Named Frankie who is now 12 weeks old and doing great.  He came to me very ill but has made a 100% turnaround.  I originally thought he was going to be red but as started to change color like I know Corgis do.  He is getting a mask so he is a Sable more than likely right??  SO wanted him to be Red but he has black hairs all over now so I assume Sable.  He is just the smartest pup!  My other two are very boned to each other so I am hoping he turns out to be a Mothers baby.  Any opinions I would love to hear & if anyone had a pup this color if they did turn out Red after all????  Thanks!

Noodles is the "classic" red Corgi I was hoping for!!!  Great color & what a great name!  I looked at his photos & he is such a nice deep red.  I can only wish for this to happen to Frankie but I am sure he is now a Sable.  This AM he does not even have a "cast" of red in his fur anymore.  At 6 wks he was so red but it has just faded away.  But I am happy he is finally thriving & growing into the Corgi he was meant to be.  Thanks again for you comment.  Enjoy your day.

Frankie is just adorable and I love the name! When you mentioned "hot dog" I immediately thought of Nathan's Hot Dogs since those are my husband's favorite. I'm not going to give him any ideas of naming our next corgi after a hot dog though (no plans for a new one, way future plans). You will see how red Noodles (and yes, my husband did name him, he likes naming animals after food) is and he started out brown. I couldn't believe how dark he was as a puppy and how red he turned out to be. I think there are a few puppy pictures on my page and you can also see what color he turned out to be. He didn't have any dark around his face as he is white with the red mask (he is a true red/white). Either way, Frankie is just a doll and I'm so glad he is doing better thanks to good care from his new mom!

It's maybe not nice but I always thought of Sage as my ugly duckling who turned out beautiful. ..lol.

Poor pup...shows what loving care can do...good thing he has you for an owner ☺

Well I just looked at Sage's pics & would be THRILLED if he turns out like her!!  How adorable.  Thanks so much.  When I took him in he was so red my heart just melted as I have always wanted a deep red Corgi.  At first I did not think he was going to live but soon after fluids, meds & warmth he started to show signs of life.  Color really doesn't matter at this point cause he is what he is.  I was just curious since I named him after a hot dog & was so hopeful.  He had a severe cause of mites as well & after much bathing & dipping I think I may have washed the red off!  LOL!

Congrats and glad you were able to nurse him back to health. If you look at my pics you will see Sage who is the darkest Sable I think I have ever seen and your pup look a lot like she did as a pup. Enjoy!!!!!

Wish I could answer your question about color changes but I never started out with a pup.  All my corgis have been between 4 and 5 years when I got them.  But I do want to say congratulations and wonderful that you turned a sick puppy into a healthy one.
