How do you keep your house clean living a corgi/corgis?

Hi All, not sure if this has been discussed before but how do you keep your house clean living a corgi/corgis?
We have a Roomba that we run everyday to manage the hair shedding and I clean the tiles area every second day but still there would be paw marks & hairs everywhere.
Do you wipe your dog's paws after walks? Do you clean them up after pee/potty?
I've read somewhere that corgis are not supposed to have the bad doggie smell. Is this true?
For those who let your dog sleep in the bedroom with you, how do you manage?
Thanks guys

My suggestions are all similar to what you have heard. I have a little green clean machine to clean up after accidents (little throow -ups and the like) and to go over the furniture periodically. I have a swiffer dust mop...wonderful for the hair... and a swiffer wet jet for quick clean-ups. I do have sections of the house the Corgis ( i have four inside) are not regularly allowed in. This would be good for when the baby is crawling around. Or...you could take advantage of a child in constant motion and make a body suit out of swiffer cloths...;o) The snow is melting here and we are already beginning spring rains...little paw marks are everywhere no matter how hard I try to keep up. Much easier in dry weather! We live on a farm. When it is wet like now. We stop them one by one at the door and wipe paws and bellys. I do keep a package of baby wipes by the door just in case. When they are really bad We take them right down to the shower and spray them off. My other problem is nose prints on the windows. I saw a little sign once that said they are not nose prints it is Corgi art! I am very sensitive to smells and worry that with so many furballs in the house that it would smell like a dog kennel, but not so.I'm also allergic to dogs (go figure!) and just sweeping and vacumming regularly keeps my allergies in check. My allergist would prefer that I don't,but I do let the Corgis jump in bed with me. I have an easy to wash comforter on top that I wash weekly. The nice thing about Corgis is that they don't need to be bathed often. Their coats are designed to shed dirt and a quick brushing does wonders to keep the dirt off them and out of the house!.

Research has shown tht young children that grow up with pets in the house are less prone to severe allergies and asthma.
"Wipe Your Feet" is a standard command: wait on the landing until I've wiped your paws and belly with the dog towel, and perhaps combed the sand out of your belly fur during normal Seattle weather.
We shovel and rake the floor once a month, whether it needs it or not, and burn the carpets every spring.
YNMZ (Your Nose May Vary), but my dogs don't stink. Other aspects of them....? Debatable.
I fall asleep with my face buried in the ruff, and if I wake with the subprime end of the dog in my face, well... Life is Hard.

Having a dog means trading squeamishness for lots of soap and handwashing.
I don't even know how to spell the WORD "hygeine" anymore.
Thanks John. :) very funny. Do you really burn the carpets?????
Your Nose May Vary --> YNMV not YNMZ ?? hahhaaha
Ha, ha, I have to go with John's funny post. I have a Roomba too, that I have set to vacuum at night while we three (me and the two furry kids) snooze. I work from home, so I do kinda like neat office. But otherwise? My windows (home and car) are covered with nose prints, there are drool spots on the wood floors and car doors, my couch and comfy chair, if not currently containing a dog, then have dog imprint from the most recent nap. My coats all have a fine coating of dog hair, and when I take a bath, usually, a hair or two float by as well. And I love every hairy, sandy, drool spattered inch of it! Maybe I'm no longer noticing it--but I don't think my dogs or house smell at all. And although I do brush my dogs sort of weekly (ish), they get baths maybe 2 or 3 times/year. I do have rags in the basement, so in mud season (i.e., now), I do a little paw-wiping. I am glad that someone pointed out that kids who are exposed to animals tend to have less severe allergy problems -- I think that exposure is very important!
We have always wiped Dee Dee's feet & butt everytime she used them. Meaning if she went pee, before she comes in, we would wipe her feet & her private. If she went #2, we would wipe that area too. She's used to it now that she's been doing it for almost 9 years. We use baby wipes, unscented ones. Keeping all those area clean makes it more pleasant & bearable when you wake up in the middle of the night, and her butt right in front of your face... :o Like John said, after the rain, it's almost a must. Dee Dee grew up in central FL where they have thunderstorms every afternoon in the summer. We just got in the habit of cleaning, and never got out of it even after we moved to sunny CA. It does help keeping the house clean, but of course you gotta remember, you do have a dog in the house! Good luck!! :)
I just bought a eureka lightweight upright vacuum and intend to vacuum my stairs everyday along with the black carpet runners in the hallway that attract all of Lances white fur!!!!! Its so lightweight it will be nice to use it everyday. It has 26 amps too!!! This will come in handy now that full blown corgi shedding season is starting.
I vacuum every other day.

After Coby walks, he always automatically go to tube in the bathroom and wait until i wash his paws and wipe his paws with dry towel (Coby's towel). I wipe his body with wipe towel (Huggies Baby Wipes).

even i vacuum every other day, there are lots of hairs.

After Coby poo, he always comes to me to take care of his poo poo, so i clean his poo and wipe his butt. ^^;;; and gave him a treat! (half of biscuit)

It is lots of work, but I ENJOY it.
just bought the bissell flip it -which vaccuums and washes floors -i love it. def love having hard wood floors would not be able to keep the house decent with carpet. george is totally house trained. he sleeps on my bed so black sheets are out..love a wite doona cover because bleaching it gets rid of muddy paws prints...basically whatever works for you oh out baby wipes are great for pooey bottoms especially having a fluffy corgi
I have one of these too! They're wicked awesome.
I don't. Haha, I am a horrible cleaner. I clean the floors & vacuum once a week or if company is coming over. I feel like what is the point? a lot of the times since there's going to be tons of hair on the ground as soon as I clean it up!
You're suppose to have a clean house when you have corgi or corgis? Well, no one told me that! I thought is was natural to have hair and muddy paws prints through the house ...LOL!
I'm with you guys...my home will never be clean but I gladly pay that price for the pleasure of having a corgi live here!
