Try to take Chloe on her walks very early or at dusk to avoid the most damage. I am sorry for Chloe. The t-shirt idea is a good one. Watch her closely. At least the fur grows back!

I've heard that one should not shave corgis because the dog's coat can be an insulator FROM heat.
"The difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is about a week". For humans. For a dog? About a summer.
Remember that dogs' temp-control physiology is totally different from ours: we would not want a fur coat in the summer heat, but we can sweat. Dogs cannot. Don't assume that the dogs would want to shed their coats just because we would. Think of the desert people who wear those long robes.
It's a problem. Our black tris wilt markedly above timberline in the 2 hot months -- and it's under 80 F.! I try to find snow or water. Often, neither is available.
But who knows? Watch Chloe carefully to see what the consequences are. If she seems more comfortable in the heat. do let us know.
But I remember when A & G got spayed/neutered; seemed like over a year before the belly fur grew back in.

Awww the poor girl! Although, down here in Texas it's getting hot too. And Domino is black. . . your hubby might be on to a good idea. We could start the naked-corgi club! :)
