We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. Didn't know the two breeds might not get along but now we are committed. They are getting along better and we are trying to quickly correct them when they act bad. They both want to be beside me and are jealous of each other. The biting is VERY aggressive, brought blood, sliced me open and I thought my finger was broken. She really chomped on me. Of course it wasn't broken and is healing well. She has been doing the puppy teething chewing also and we have started being more stern in correcting her when she is teething on us. My teen daughter thought it was cute when she would playfully bite and chew on her.
I will have pictures of all soon I just joined this site last night and also daisy is due to have pupies any time now her temp has dropped to 98.2 and has held all day but she isnt making a nest and she is still eating so im not sure what to think and comments would be great thanks.
Thanks. Well valentines day was coming up and we had the labs already but Jackie wanted a small dog that was like a lap dog so I started looking on the internet and found corgis she had mentioned before that she thought corgis were cute. So jackie wound up with cooper for valentines day. Then I decided I wanted a female for breeding and also so cooper could have a friend more his size. We got both of them from Missouri but cooper came from east MO and Daisy came from west MO we wanted them to be close in age we actually got daisy a week after we got cooper. They just happen to be very close in age. As for hank and hailee I got hank first because I had always wanted a chocolate lab. he is 3 years old. and then I later decided that Hank needs a friend and mate so i got hailee a couple of months later. She is also 3 they were born days apart hank came from arkansas and hailee came from mo. thats my story
Never had to try the bitter apple but I might have to now...between sage and my shoes and 3 pups left...there vare days that are better than others:) How are you? I have been either busy or gone!
Our main problem is biting. My husband has been bit 3 times and me once. She is very aggressive when eating or chewing on a rawhide or dog bone. She recently attacked the older dog when he came over to see what she was chewing on. I was petting her last week (no food or bone involved) and she bit me on my index finger. We spoke with the breeder and she was willing to take her back, but mainly just told us to keep her outside and toss food over the fence so she couldn't bite us. We want a pet we can bring inside and feel safe. Suggestions to break this bad behavior?

Really? Good thing you said "No!" I would have done the same thing with Paris. I am hoping to show her this summer. To a smaller shows..do you show other corgis besides Maggie?
Adventures for sure...little worried about house training a dog with no legs in 4 feet of snow though LOL. Maybe I'll have to start shovelling now HA HA.
Thanks so much, we are actually expecting a new corgikid in January. Going to visit them in a few weeks. Nothing will ever replace our "Lexi", but your right, we need another corgi in our lives!
That is funny that your photos are like mine, almost none of you but plenty of dogs and family members! It is great you have some of your previous pups.
Hi, Yes Hanukkah is early this year although one year it started in November. Since it is for 8 nights it is spread out and with no kids around any more we just pick a convenient night to celebrate.
Thrift stores, yard sales and rummage sales are great for picking up dog balls. I keep an eye out for dog toys and always try to keep a coupla spares. Dog balls are mortal.
Al's current recommendations: (1) volleyball, lighter and still tooth-resistant; (2) Nike Jr. basketball 7-8" dia., tough toothproof hide.
Al likes to get under the ball and take it on his snout, hard, so I look for lighter balls; I worry about the impact on his neck and teeth.
Soccer balls have that tooth-inviting cushion skin.
Even though Bella's a pain, if I had another one, I think she'd be less painful. Or do you think they'd form a gang and I'd be the first one outta there? The other dog belongs to a friend. Bella was in awe. She gets along really well with other dogs.
