Oh, Corky, you made me choke on my coffee!

Corky feels he should be the sole recipient of any affection bestowed on any canine in our house at all times. He demonstrates this by, leaping on the other dog, body slamming them, running interferance, any possible way he can to put himself in the front line of attention. He developed a new technique. I was sitting in the kitchen when his doggy sister came and laid her head quietly in my lap and wanted to be petted. Corky also seems to possess an uncanny ability to know this is happening without actually seeing it. (obviously something to do with the giant hearing receptacles on his head) Anyway no sooner had we begun "our moment" when I could hear Corky quit ganwing his bone and started clicking his way in to the kitchen to sniff out this grievous event. He saw us, ran over and got on his little hind legs and rested one forepaw on my lap, and with his free fat stubby paw began to wack his setter sister, repeatedly on the head. All the while he was grinning that wicked corgi grin, looking at me, and wiggling his nub wildly. She laid there and blinking  with each wap of his paw until I said "Corky you are being rude, now knock it off!" He then ran back off to his bone in the living room having showed us!

Addy-Bell was VERY bad today. She shot out the door as my wife, Ashley, was going through it (I was going to work, and was right behind her). I was running late for work and had to go, so that left Ashley to catch her (though I ALMOST called in and told them I'd be late).

And, as I learned on my lunch break, Addy gave my wife quite a chase. To make things worse, Ashley was in her bare feet through most of it, since she didn't dare go back inside and risk loosing track of Addy.

I don't know how long it took Ashley to catch her - but when she did, Addy was covered in who-knows-what and smelled awful. She gave her a very thurough bath, and then over the course of the day Addy threw up 3 times - and the contents of said throw-up revealed that she had truely eaten something foul (it looked to be mostly poo). This, in turn, made my wife sick!

Addy has been so good of recent, I guess she had to get all her built-up naughtiness out in one run! I only wish I had pre-bath pics...

Corky has developed a new hobby............... WHITTLING. Notice the rung on the chair. He is doing his best to perfect this art while teaching it to his other doggy pals. But they are like cockroaches and scatter as soon as I enter the room, but I happend to capture this moment.

Helloooo Carol, LOL, we got Rafa to be a friend to our 4yo corgi, Lucy. If I get another corgi to keep Rafa company Lucy will never forgive me. We're done. 2 corgis and a cat. But, thanks for your ideas. Instead of doggy day care, I take him to Petsmart obedience class and then spend another hour socializing him with other dogs, kids and walk around the mall, trying not to spend money!

I think that Rafa needs a little friend to keep him busy!  HAHAHA.  Or...have you considered sending him to doggy day care to keep him busy?  When Odie was a pup all those years ago, we had him and 3 cats so we took him to doggy day care so that he knew he was a dog!  My dialysis patients thought that I had lost my mind.  we thought it a very good idea, he came home (4 hours only, after all, he was just a pup!) exhausted!

@Carol - It really was hysterical watching my bad boy being such a rapt student––total concentration. We'll see what happens in the next class. Clearly he's all corgi and needs to be challenged and busy. Unfortunately, I can't keep him busy all the time! My husband said we're not the circus. LOL.

Way to go Rafa!  Keep up the good work, take good notes so you can send them to our house!

@Bev - Rafa's like one of those kids that's perfect at school every day but a terror when he returns home. I always told Jack that I'd rather our kids be perfect at school. haha!

I could deal with our kids at home w/o having to grade them.
