We lost our paraplegic corgi last fall, and I think i can part with his wheelchair now if it will help some other corgi who needs it and whose parents can't afford one.

I am new to this site. I have a very sweet little Pembroke that is 12 years old. She has DM and is having lots of trouble walking due to her back legs. Is there a way I can get information on rent/borrowing a cart for her. I live in Overland Park, KS.

Mary Fran, Rusty's might work, if she's close to the size he was. Can you measure her back leg from the floor to the underside of her body? It's best to do this when she's standing. And measure the width of her hips. If someone can help you, have them hold rulers or some other stiff thing up on either side of her back end at the hips and measure between the uprights. Can you visualize what I mean? Rusty's wheelchair is somewhat adjustable, and you're welcome to it if it'll fit your baby.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply! When I was researching, I read you had to get a boy cart for a male and a girl cart for a female Corgi. Do you think that is an issue to consider?

I took the measurements you asked for and a few more (as suggested by the measurement guide on www.eddieswheels.com). I might have been generous and rounded up for some - it was hard to be precise with all that corgi fluff! Here they are:

(1) Hip width (referred to by EddiesWheels as the "rump") = 7 in

(2) Leg height (floor to groin) = 8 in

(3) Leg height (floor to top of shoulder) = 11 in

(4) Between back legs/uprights = 6 in

(5) Body length (center of front leg to the beginning of back leg) = 15 in

(6) Thigh width = 4 in

(7) Shoulder width = 6 in

(8) Rib cage width = 8 in

What state would the cart be coming from? I appreciate your time and help!

-Mary Fran

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I think Rusty's cart will work. This brand doesn't have gender-based designs. It's somewhat adjustable, and you can tweak it as needed. this is a keeper, not a loaner, so feel free to do whatever is necessary to it. You can email your address to nblacy@comcast.net, and I can send it right on.

if it doesn't work out for Mary Fran and her Pemmie..you could donate your cart to CorgiAid's cart program.see links below
