Hey all,
Barkley is alone most of the day during the week because my husband and I both work days.  We tried giving him access to the carpet to lay on, that ended up being a bad idea.  Now we keep him penned in the kitchen on the linoleum.  Since the floor is hard and it can make his legs stiff after 8 hours, my husband and I want to give him something to lay on.  So far, in the past 4 months he's been through 2 pillows, the latest one only lasted about 2 weeks.  What happens is he gets a hold of the zipper and pulls the end of the pillow open...then he pulls all the stuffing out, similar to what he does to stuffed animals.  Does anyone have any advice as to what we could give him to lay on during the day?  I really don't want to have to make him lay on the hard floor all day.

They make some heavy duty mats for dogs that might work. Unfortunately if he really wants to destroy it he will but you could try one.
how about a short shag pile carpet with sponge rubber on the back
Kuranda Beds are really nice - there's a chewproof model - we have some and are buying more as I can afford them. My corgi kids love jumping off them even though they're only a few inches off the floor. It's hillarious.
