I have a 3 year old rescue corgi who I think would be a great candidate for agility training. Sadly, we have a pretty small yard, so I don't think I could set up a track in the yard. Does anyone know of a way to get started? I live in Tucson, but can drive to the Phoenix area.

We have a small yard but I've still managed to squeeze in enough agility obstacles to make it fun. You can't run at competitive speeds (I can't run fast ANYWHERE) but I think for basic training and confidence building a small course it fine. Or you could have several obstacles and then move two or three into position for practice sessions. If you're keen on actually competing though, there is no substitute for working with a good club and experienced trainers. Also, there is an agility club in Tucson, the Saguaro Scramblers. Web page is here: http://www.scramblers.org/
Thank you so much!
Hi! I live in Tucson also (well, technically Marana) and my husband just emailed an agility trainer two days ago to enroll in a foundations course this fall! http://www.scramblers.org/ $120 for 8 weeks in Marana if you are interested. I guess the foundations course comes first and following completion you can then sign up for beginners course. Our pup is almost 2 years old and I guess they say to wait until they are at least 1.5 so your pup should be about the perfect age as well. Dave asked the instructor what he and Winston can do to prepare and she said, well that's what the foundations course is about so there is no preparation ahead of time.
Oh haha! I didn't see that Doug already mentioned Scramblers :)
