Hah, we call that the "shark bump," which she does as positive reinforcement for the simple-minded human. For example, when she puts on a show for awhile in an attempt to get us to run around the house. When human finally rises, the human receives multiple reinforcing nose bumps in encouragement. :)

Lol Michelle - we have only had him do the silent stare for potty breaks. He always walks up to the door and then turns around and stares like he is trying to hypnotize you. He does other things for when he wants to play, etc. he has a little squeaky football and will run up and slam it into you over and over until you give in. :)

"Right here, Mom! Look at me lie down! LOOK!" lol, I understand wanting to catch this on video. The challenge will be when Walter figures out the stare and offer behavior is successful- you'll start getting it for everything he wants! ...have others experienced that? Vesper shakes and stares for potty, food, water, play, permission to bark out the window... it takes knowing her schedule to know which 'want' is up.

Boy, he has the corgi "stare" nailed!  Those big brown eyes sure do make you stop and do as he commands!
