How do we get these permits?

Ok checked with the AA park, the unofficial as she put it word is if one of us has a permit it will be fine. It isn't policed so there won't be a problem. Ambre do you have a permit?

Spring is definitely on its way. My Paco already blew out his undercoat on his rump this past weekend. As you all know, it's such a mess to brush out all that hair and give baths when they're shedding.
We went for the first time to the Dog-O-Mat 2 because I didn't feel like cleaning out the tub after 2 corgi baths. It was worth it! She charges a flat rate for the poundage of your dog, does all the clean up, and supplies the towels, soap, aprons and brushes. And, she was totally excited to have her first corgis come in.
If you live in the Ann Arbor area I strongly recommend going to the Dog-O-Mat 2 or original!

Opal and I plan to attend the April 24th play date when you decide exactly where it will be...let us know the play and the time!

Would love to attend the AA playdate. Can I assume that means Ann Arbor? How exciting to multiple corgis in action!

Ok, April 24th, 2010 at Swift Dog Run in Ann Arbor, MI. What time are we all meeting up at? 1pm?

Ok, so we are getting close the the April 24th playdoggie date. I think 1pm sounds great. We are going to the Swift Dog Run in Ann Arbor. Here is the website: http://www.a2gov.org/government/communityservices/ParksandRecreatio... It is located at Platt and E. Elsworth Roads in the SW corner. When you link to this there is a map of the park. No one checks for permits. So this should not be a problem. I will be going out there sometime this next week and will check out hotels, as some had asked if there was one nearby. Since I myself am not real familiar with Ann Arbor, I will go and check it out, and post my findings. I am getting so excitited! Hope you all are too.

Darlene, Did you get a chance to check on this? Does anyone have the address for our GPS? We are thinking about coming too.

I actually work pretty close to this dog park and there is a shopping mall close to the park. The mall is called Briarwood Mall and it is at 94 and State St. There are several hotels there including a Holiday Inn and a Residence Inn Marriot...nothing fancy but definetly tolerable.

We live down the street from that dog park and would love to come bring the dogs:) we missed the last meet up in Florida before we left - we were really bummed out. Can't wait to see all of the corgis! And if anyone lives close to the park message us and maybe we can get our dogs together to play before then:)

Ok Everyone, the meetup is for Saturday April 24th. 1pm @ Swift Run Dog Park in Ann Arbor. The address is 2998 E. Ellsworth Rd. Having never been there we went yesterday (and survived the frigid Michigan weather!). Gunner and Gracie had a blast. It was really easy to get there, I used mapquest (unfortunately no GPS for me...lol) and didn't have any problems, arriving at my destination. I didn't go further west from the park on 94, to check out hotels, if someone would like me to, we won't mind taking another trip out there. But at Belleville Rd. (between 275 and the exit for the park) is a Holiday Inn express, Hampton Inn and Red Roof Inn). Checking on mapquest for hotels near the park, off 23 is a Days Inn and Ann Arbor Victory Suites. I realize this is something you can do yourself, but I thought I would let you know what I found. We are so looking forward to meeting all the corgis and their parents! I didn't have a permit and Ambre is right no one was there or came around to check for permits. Let me know if anyone else needs any more info, I will do my best to find out what you need to know...

Very excited - Fergie should be ready to go after the 'cruel and heartless', limited activity she is experiencing, due to her recent spay. I compare it to letting my kids immediately jump in the lake after a tedious 7 hour drive up north every summer. She probably will not be able to contain herself! I look forward to meeting all of you crazy corgi people!

We may have to plan for an alternate date since the weather forecast so far looks bad. Hope the weatherman is wrong!

Greg, my post from the 18th has all the details as to address, time (1-4), hotels are listed for the Belleville Rd exit. Holiday Inn Express is there, it usually is pet friendly, however I didn't check. Read that post it has other info regarding hotels. I hope this helps :o)

ok just did a check of the weather. I am thinking we need to reschedule. There is a 70% chance of rain at 11am, and 50%1pm until 4pm. If indeed the rain does come at 11am the park will be very wet. What does everyone else think? I am soooo disappointed, we have waited soooo long.

Anyone in the Grand Rapids/ Holland area want to meet at the Holland dog park on May Ist ? We are camping there that weekend and the park is at the fairgrounds there. It is quite a nice dog park with a small dog area.

I am all for rescheduling as we just got back from the Vet, and Fergie has still not healed fully from her spay. I live about 20 minutes away, so I'm pretty flexible. The Sunday after Mothers day would be great.

The Saturday after mother's day would be good. The weather is more likely to be good too.

Ok all I rescheduled the event to May 15th. I won't be attending as I have plans. The only May dates for me would be the 16th or the 22nd. But I will plan another one for June, so I hopefully will get to meet you. You all have fun, take pictures for me...

http://www.thepetemporium.com/ is an indoor park in saline near to AA. I beleive they have a day pass for cheap it could be a fall back for tomorrow if it does rain. Let me know what you think:)

If anyone still want to meet up, we will be there with our corgis since we live so close. Hasn't really rained yet, hopefully it will hold out until later tonight.

Well, we can do either Saturday or Sunday next weekend. It sounds like Sunday the 16th is better for more people, we could do it then.

I know this has been difficult to schedule.. hopefully as the weather is nicer we can plan a few other ones. I was thinking something maybe once a month until maybe October, that way hopefully everyone will have a chance to meet a few of us out there... Any suggestions? I also heard (but haven't been to) a dog park by Lake Orion, and one in Saline that has water for the dogs to play in. Anyone else heard of them. I was thinking since some of you are not in the AA area (as I am not) we could schedule them other areas, any thought on this? For those of you coming looking forward to meeting you.
