Anyone going to the dog shows at the MSU Pavilion this weekend?? The corgis start Saturday morning around 9:15. Anybody want to meet me there?

I graduated from MSU & live in Lansing-- how have I not heard of this dog show?! I have a corgi, and am getting another on Friday (6 wks old!) I'm supposed to be out of town on Saturday though :( Have fun at the show!

There are 3 shows that weekend starting on Friday. Friday's show has limited breeds but Saturday and Sunday are most breeds plus agility and obedience. The corgis are  showing around 11:30 on Sunday too. So much to see!

I don't think we'll be able to go to the one on the 19th, my guy has his drill weekend with the reserves then, and Emma sometimes gets a bit uncomfortable in bigger groups of dogs (she starts to get a little too bossy). It's too much for me to try to keep up with both of my girls by myself. Hope it's a great time for everyone else though!

i will not be able to go to the one on the 19th either. I have a brother and sister, 9mos old. I know what you mean about keeping up with 2 of them. Sophie is quite bossy sometimes too, but Bruno is a lot more laid back.

Is the park the one on Ann and Ashman street. The google link you posted didn't have an address or a street. Is it the one in Chippewassee Park?

So how did the meet go yesterday? I am sad we had to miss, but on the other hand our son got a shut out on his last hockey game of the season (actually his first shut out!)

My question is there parking off Jerome St.? On the map it looks like there is. The Tridge parking might be a problem with the farmers market going on.

The only dog park I know of offhand in Midland IS the one in Chippewassee park. I haven't been there in awhile, but there is a small and large dog area. There's parking for the Tridge/park in the farmer's market circle, a few small lots near it by the hotels, and downtown. There should be parking near the skate park, since that is also in Chippewasse park, I'm just not sure on location. There's a road that runs into the skate park (off Jerome) that has boat launches, but I'm not 100%. Anytime we went there when I lived up there we just parked near the farmer's market and walked. The market runs from 7am-1pm so you may get lucky and miss some traffic!

Yes, there is parking between the skate park and the dog park off of Jerome street. It's a decent sized lot, but if it is packed there are multiple parking lots near the hotels that are clearly marked for the Tridge and a short paved walk to the dog park from there.

I just wanted to remind you of the corgi meet up in Midland this coming Saturday (June 2nd). I will keep you all updated on rain, or last minute cancellations due to weather on the event page. I Hope more people sign up to go!  

Midland, Mi June 2nd meeting Cancelled. There has been a lot of rain, and a 50% chance tomorrow, so I am guessing the tridge area will be too flooded/mushy to have a nice meet up.
I am hoping to reschedule soon. :(

Anyone in the Ann Arbor area?  I was planning on taking Aayla to Arise Community Dog Park in Pinckney and thought I'd see if anyone else would be interested. 

A few weeks ago, I found on a lump on Aayla's backside that turned out to be a mast cell tumor. It has been removed, she got the 'All Clear' and the subsequent mandatory rest period has been lifted.  To celebrate, we're heading out to the dog park so she can run her corgi energy off!    

I would love to Bobbi, but we can't this week at all. I am happy that Aayla's given the all clear!!! You have fun!! Maybe next time.

The Winter Classic dog show is at the Michigan State Pavilion Dec.1st and 2nd. There will be a lot of dogs both conformation an agility. The Cardigans are 10am Saturday and the Pembrokes at 11am. Sunday they are both at noon. Let me know if anyone is going so I can look out for you because I will be there. This is a great show with many breeds there, I go every year and it is lots of fun. You can not bring your dog but a folding chair is handy.

Does this group typically get together in the summer months only?

Yes when we get together it is usually during the spring-early fall. If you want to have one, feel free to post, we live all over so someone may show. I have traveled quite far to meet corgi friends.
