Bella, we live in Lansing! My Corgs (and I!) would love to meet your adorable little Chiba. :)

Hello! Jeff and I are in Grand Rapids, but we would love to meet other corgis too! 

Maybe we could plan a meet up somewhere near Lansing since it's centrally located.  I'm not familiar enough with the area to know if there are any dog parks or dog friendly parks.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm new to this group and haven't planned anything before so if someone with experience has any suggestions that would be great.  I'm anxious to get my little girl together with some other corgi's. 

I don't know the area that well as far as dog parks go, but just a quick google search brings up Northern Tail Dog Park - that looks pretty nice? 

I saw Northern Tail Dog Park because it's a block away from where I live, but Chiba isn't allowed there yet!  She's just eight weeks old now, and dogs must be at least 4 months to go there.  That may very well limit the places my little Chiba can go.

It did look nice but if Chiba can't go there we can pick somewhere else.  That is crazy that she has to be 4 months old.  I have never been to a dog park but I didn't know they had restrictions like that.

Yeah they seem pretty strict http://www.cityofeastlansing.com/Home/Departments/ParksRecreationAr...  If i had a big yard, i'd just invite everyone over, but I live in an apartment.

They don't have too many restrictions (mostly common sense ones) and it's a 2 acres space.  The age restriction at city parks may be more to protect your little bunny than anything else, as those babies don't have the strongest immune system yet.  :)  Congrats on your babe!

The Arise Dog Park looks nice and I also checked out one called the EZ Dog Park in Howell. http://www.ezdogpark.com/lookaround.htm but I don't know anyone that's been there. See what you guys think about either of them.

The apartments I live in actually have two fenced off areas for the dogs to play in. They're not huge, but you also don't have to worry about any other dogs being there if that's a concern-- especially since you have just a baby, Bella. And there are actually like 3 other Corgis that currently live in my complex haha. It's College Towne Apartments in Lansing-- just throwing the idea out there! :)

That would be fine with me.  Wow what are the chances that you have other corgi's in your complex.

That sounds perfect for me (the fenced area at College Town Apartments).  That's really close and it would be better if there were fewer dogs.  When should we try this?

Sorry for the delay!  The last couple of days have been pretty hectic.  Yeah this weekend is fine, but really whenever is best for you.  I would say like a 3:00pm playdate would be best for me, on a saturday or sunday.

I still haven't gone to apartment dog park yet.  Saturdays I'm free August 10th, 24th, and 31st.  Also, just to put it out there, I go to the East Lansing Farmer's Market every sunday at around noon with Chiba.  The last two times I went, we actually met other corgis!  There's a big field right next to it, but dogs will have to be leashed there.  But Chiba loves meeting lots of new people and dogs there.  I still would love to the apartment dog park.  However, Chiba will be 4 months on august 23rd, so we could actually do Northern Trail Dog Park August 24th.  Let me know!  

I could do the Northern Trail Dog Park on August 24th - anyone else available?

If we are doing the 24th, what time works best for everyone? I think early afternoon works best for me.

I would say around 1 or 2 o'clock is good for me. 

I'll be at a wedding on the 24th, but I'm going to try and meet up at the East Lansing  Farmer's Market this weekend! :)

There are lots of exhibitors, shows, and other fun things for your pup.  It's a great event for dogs and dog-lovers (and other pets of the non-corgi and non-dog variety)! Megan, I'm so glad!!!  It'll be nice to meet everyone.  Does anyone who has been to the park know if visitors are allowed if we don't live in Ingham County?  I was on the park's website and it says proof of rabies and licensed through Ingham County.  I was going to call and just double check before we get there.  Also I didn't see anything, but is their a charge to use the park?

I've actually been to Northern Trails.  I checked it out twice last week just because I wanted to know what it was like (and meet some of the people who go there).  It's a very lax set up.  None of the long list of rules that are on their website are enforced.  It's just a small/medium sized fenced off area and the dogs just run around.    And I also look forward to meeting everyone!

Zeus and I are new here and would love to meet other corgis. I am in Ann Arbor if there are any in the area that would like to meet. I will try to go to the Ann Arbor Pet Fest but Zeus is getting his teeth cleaned Friday and I don't know if he will have his pep back by this weekend. Anyways just wanted to introduce my self and Zeus!

Thanks for letting us know about the Ann Arbor Pet Fest Megan! It's a little too far for me to drive to I think. 

Jeff and I are looking forward to the 24th! 

Sadly, Jeff and I will not be able to attend anymore :(  We will be going to the vet today, because it sounds like he caught an infection from the dog park last weekend. He is pretty sick and shouldn't be around any other dogs! 

I am planning on coming.  However, which dog park did your dog get sick from Kaitlyn?  Now I'm worried!

It is free, but there is no separate area, it's just one big fenced off area.

Hello Michigan Corgis! A few of us on Instagram have planned a beach day this weekend, so you should all join us! Sunday at 3:30 at the dog beach in Muskegon. It is Norman F. Kruse Park.  We will probably be there even earlier and plan on staying for awhile :)

This weekend is the Dog Bowl weekend in Frankemuth so if anyone is around there I recommend it! Dog events all weekend...dock diving, agility, dancing, herding, lure coursing, just about anything you can think of .
