There are actually quite a few corgis floating around SC! I don't officially belong to the Palmetto PWC Club, but have friends who are very active in it. There are two excellent breeders in the Cola area. Foxllyn Kennels and Jimanie. Re. Dog parks - all the ones I am familiar with are in Charleston County. We have a pet friendly business, so ya'll are welcome to visit when ever you want!!!!

I found a beautiful female ready to go at the end of the month. My husband and I will be driving up to Indiana to pick her up. I am very happy and excited!
  • Edie

Check my page for photos of Morna (Welsh for "Dearly loved"). We were going to drive to Indiana to pick her up, but it turns out that we will be picking her up at Charlotte, NC airport. It's only about 4 hrs from our house, and the flight is non-stop from Indianapolis, so it will be short for her and not so far to travel for us. Kerry (her breeder) has been sending me pix almost daily and I've been adding some of them to my page. Check them out! She is a real beauty, and in the pics she looks kind of feisty. Kerri agrees with my assessment... Going to get us signed up for obedience classes soon, I guess!

Hey everybody! I second the corgi picnic idea!!!! do any of you have a cardigan? I was wondering if there were any breeders in the greenville area. I have one 3 year old Pem and would love to add a Cardi to the family too!
  • Karen

    Leah,

    Check out this page:
    http://www.cardigancorgis.com/BreederDirectoryDisplay.asp?reg=8

It is the directory from the cardigan welsh corgi club of america for the southeast. Looks like there is a breeder in Greer. I am not familiar with them, but I could ask a couple of pem breeder friends if they know of the kennel if you want me to. I have seen Cindi Bossi's dogs at show (she is in Wilmington) and they are really nice cardigans.
Good luck & keep us posted!
    Karen

Thanks for the info Karen! I'll look into it. I have seen some of the puppies from the greer breeder, and they were all $800-$1000...I cant quite afford those, though they are beautiful. But I will continue searchering. Once again, thanks for the help!
  • Karen

Hi Leah, Yes, it seems like all of the puppies I have looked into were in the $1000 range. I respect the pricing, and it has its merit, but it is alot of $$. If you would be willing to consider an older dog, you should get in touch with the greer breeder and/or some of the others and let them know that. Many have adult dogs that need to have forever homes, or with their many contacts, know of someone else who is looking to place a cardi. Good Luck!

  • Karen

We have a house there - maybe you have seen the corgi sign on the front?!?!
  • Joanne Koppenaal

Wow Karen Is it the green Corgi cottage? I always wanted to go knock on the door and say hi! Tell me it's so!
  • Karen

    YES IT IS SO!!!!!
That's us! You must come on over! We are only there part-time, as we have an antique mall in Little mountain, SC and have a house here, too. BUT we would love to meet up with you next time we are in town. Oh, and always feel free to park, hang out or rinse off the dogs there if you need to - just let me know via text or e-mail what kind of car you've got so I can call the neighbors off. They watch out for the house, etc. Do you live on SI? Do you go to the beach alot?
There are a few other corgis on the island.
  • Karen

    Hey Joanne,
I clicked add too quick - did you know our corgi sign is in the Darius Rucker video filmed on SI??!
  • Joanne Koppenaal

Hi Karen, this has made the day! I haven't seen the video but will look for it. I have looked for corgi's on island haven't run into any. Glad to know a few are there. We live in Brickyard Plantation near Boone Hall so we go to SI almost everyday! I have friends out there who are longtime residents so we will be out there for Labor Day off Middle street . So please give me a shout when you are coming in! Thanks so much for the offer of hospitality of parking and hosing them off. I usually bring a big jug of water for them and hoist them up in backseat of my truck all sandy . My cel# is 843-330-2615 Look forward to seeing ya! Jo

Hi Everyone! Tilly (Mathilde) is our first Corgi and I'm sure she won't be the last. She's turning 2 this month. She was bred right here in SC by Synergy Stables. I love how she was bred to be on the small side of standard. She's SO portable! Reading the comments, I see many of you go to James Island. Funny, the reason we got Tilly was because my son was running a CC race there and so many folks had brought their dogs. I told my husband that's what I wanted for Xmas...a pooch I could take anywhere! You should see her skittle right up the rocks and trails in the NC mountains!

Hi new to this group and actually new to My Corgi.com, but I wanted to know if there were any good dog parks in the Anderson area.  My Chloe went to Rainbow Bridge on 2/17/11, but I am adopting a 4 year old tri-colored male and he is the total opposite of Chloe.  Soloman is all boy and loves to run so he is gonna need a place where he can run with others.  Anyone know of a place?  Thanks
  • Michael Jackson

Nettles Park in Clemson has a dog park. Never been but I heard it was nice. Nettles is out near Central. Turn off of Clemson Rd beside Mac's drive in and go about 3 miles. It is on the right after you make a sharp right turn.
