Cosmos park is sooo close. I totally wish I could come! Grace is due to have her corgi puppies TODAY. Will miss all of you:( Have fun and we will be back in the mix after Christmas.
Lola and I had a great time today at Cosmo Dog Park. We didn't get a chance to meet everyone in all the excitement, so if you were there today could you leave your name and your dog's name for me & Lola. Also, there was a man with a corgi with a tail today, does anyone know who they are?
If you mean the young man with the cute corgi with a tail, that was me and Chase. Chase had a very good time at the park today and we are planning to go to the picnic at PV next Sunday. I always enjoy seeing a lot of Corgis
Brian Mary & Chase
My husband Zach and I were there today with our Corgis Ein and Faye - they were the two that didn't want to come out of the water! We had a great time meeting everyone and their beautiful Corgis!!
Lilo and Zelda had a great time Saturday and had an even better bath when we got home! haha. Chase, Warner, Rebel, and Rebekah's babies. It was all very nice to meet you. Marie and Lola: I believe we saw you...I think we met at the previous meet up! Everyone's hospitality was greatly appreciated! :)
Thanks, Doug. Glad you were able to get them on this site for all to see. Yes, the pix you took of Toby and I came out fine, and are in the photo set. Thanks again!
Hope everyone had a good time yesterday! Was there a big turnout? Sorry we couldn't make it! Mama had a busy week and was just too tired to drive that far...went for a walk in the local park instead.
I finally sorted through my photos of the picnic and have posted the best of the bunch here.
Gromit and Debbie and Holly and I had a grand time at the picnic. Frank and I figured there were about 50 Corgis that attended during the course of the day. How cool is that?! I just wish I could remember the names of all the dogs and of course all of the people. So many wonderful, happy Corgis and some very special ones too. I hope Big Ozzie, Cooper, and the rest find their new homes soon.
Happy 2011 to all. Toby and I made it through the holidays with minimal weight gain from too many treats. Hope we can get together in the spring at the park for another super outing. Hugs and licks to all !
Hi all. I'm new to mycorgi, and corgi ownership. I got my first corgi on Oct 30th. She is a pembroke, and her name is Ein. She is almost 4 months old now, and I can't wait for her to meet everyone at the next meet up.

Anyone have any good suggestions on puppy friendly places to go and hang out besides a dog park? We're in the middle of really trying to nip this house training thing in the bud, so I'm wanting lots of different, fun places to go and spend some time outside. The more she's outside the more I can praise her when she goes outside. If we're indoors my trainer says I have to give her 100% of my attention so I can catch her in the act if she tries to go inside. That's so exhausting, and I keep getting distracted by things I need to get done around here. I'd rather get out and do something fun if I'm not going to be productive.
We've been hiking at the Thunderbird Conservation Park 3 days this week already. We over did it with a 3 mile hike yesterday, so I wanted something a little more relaxed. I think maybe we'll head over to Desert Ridge Mall and walk around. If anything, at least it will be an opportunity to socialize her to that kind of environment and more people. Maybe bring some iced tea and find a spot to hang.
I take Toby to the Rio Vista park in Peoria at 89th & Thunderbird. It's a large park - leash is required. I park next to the volleyball courts, and walk around the 3 ponds through the picnic areas, follow alonf the edge of the last 3 baseball diamonds to where the park comes to a point at the 101. Then follow the walkway back along the wash all the way to the start point. There is a drinking fountai' at the little bridge that goes into the indoor rec center. This has a 'doggie fountain' also.
This is a nice walk - about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 miles long. Sometimes I will follow the concrete bike trail under the 101, and 83 rd Ave to 75th Ave and back. This can make for a great walk of 4+ miles or so. This path is part of the main trail that goes all the way down past the Biltmore and hooks up the Indian Bend trail all the way into Scottsdale, if you're into biking. also crosses to the west side at the park and goes for miles either direction on the west side of the wash.
I usually go there weekday late mornings now. It does get more crowded on weekends, but is still useable. There are a number of refrigerated drinking fountains in the park, but only one low down 'doggie bowl' The doggie one is not refrigerated, so when it gets warmer, I bring along a drinking cup for Toby, and fill it from the regular cool water fountains. I park between the volleyball courts and the skatepark, just over the bridge and to the right when you enter the park. There's a stop/go light on T-bird at 89th ave which is now named Rio Vista Blvd. Go north past the business warehouses and into the park.
Just a note to all - Corgi Picnic Sunday Mar 20 at Paradise Valley Park. Hope everyone can make it. See Vicki's note on Wags n Wiggles. Looking forward to seeing everyone again, after a long winter!
It will last until2p-3p. Some don't get to the park until noon , please feel free to join us even if at 12:30 or 1p. Lots of Corgi friends, and fun. Easy to find - take the 101 and at the north junction with 51 go south to first exit on right (comes up fast) - Union Hills. Turn left and first stop/go light turn right on 40 street. park will be on your right - go to south end of the park, turn in and follow inside road back to the north. Lots of Corgis will be there at the north end. HOPE TO SEE YOU!
An email from WagsNWiggles - Corgi Picnic officially starts at 11a to 3:30p or so. Should make it easier for out of town corgis to get here. Sounds like a super fun day!!! Hope to see everyone!
So to summarize: this picnic is on Sunday March 20th from 11:00 to 3:30 give or take. At Paradise Valley Park, which is at 17642 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ (40th & Bell)? Park Link: www.phoenix.gov/PARKS/pvcc.html
There will also be agility matches going on and oodles of vendors selling things your Corgi pal can't live without.
We'll be there on Sunday with Gromit, he's not a show dog but he'll have some family members in the ring so we want to cheer them on (and of course say hi to Gromit's breeder).
I was wondering where the dog show was being held. Thanks for the info. Harvey (a tri-colored Pembroke) from Corgi Corral (the breeders where I got Ein) is going to be showing there. Don't think I'll be able to make it though. GO HARVEY!
If anyone would like further info on MARCH 20TH picnic you should go to vickiazcatuscorgi.com for more info on what will be going on from food to games for the pups and a Easter Parade for the kids. Vicki will also have a few rescues up for adoption. This is a big undertaking is has taken on.
I/m also told she has 2 white corgis....................again......reach her at vickiazcactuscorgi.com ....it will give her a general idea how many peopl to expext so she can resrve tables....................Rosemary
Yeah, we are, cause we have our last dog training class near the park, and they are both students. Unfortunately we'll only be able to stay til 12:45, cause the class is at 1pm. Hopefully Philo behaves, cause he's not very social. Fingers crossed. See you tomorrow morning.

Jennifer: We will see you there. :)
