I have Friday off. Does anyone want to meet up at a dog park? I moved. So, I can do Keller Springs or even Denton. :)

  • Curtis B

There is a young, male tri available at the Pilot Point shelter.  Looks like a Pemmie.

  • Jackie (Lilu & Loki)

There's also this gorgeous female cardigan in Ft Worth. (We got Lilu from HSNT).

Compared to the rest of the shelters in the North Texas area, HSNT seems to be raining Corgis!  Reba is the 5th I've seen in about three months and looks like a great dog!

  • Jana Knight

Reba is our Miss Tenby Brown - We adopted her Wednesday night from HSNT and she's been a great addition to our family. Poor girl had been adopted twice previously, third time's a charm! I guess we should be thankful for the last person who brought her back because she sheds, lol!
  • Jackie (Lilu & Loki)

Yay! I'm glad someone adopted Reba. She looked like such a sweet dog. We definitely had a good experience with HSNT, and I think the foster house we got Lilu from was their go-to house for corgi's. It was in Mansfield and when we went they had a bunch of corgi's (including the 3 puppies running around that were Lilu and her siblings at the time) as well as some kittens, chickens, and maybe even a horse. I know they do have some dogs at their shelter locations, but I love that they try to put as many with foster homes as possible. It helps the dogs to be able to socialize and run around and get people attention.

Glad to see she found a home! If we could have three, I'd get this young lady:

Congratulations!  Corgis are the potato chips of the dog world; you can't stop at one!

  • Denise Gilbert James

    Congratulations!!!  So glad for you.

  • Teresa Gilpin

I am so happy for Reba!  And so glad you were able to adopt her!  I think it is the best Christmas present Reba could have received!  Merry Christmas!!!!!

Sorry in advance posting this from my phone. Has anybody seen this adorable little guy?
    http://m.petfinder.com/s/showPage.do?siteId=75192&pageId=702397...

He's in OK, but he's a husky/corgi mix. If Emma weren't still do young, I'd jump all over this. He's adorable.

I know everyone is busy with the holidays, but I have next Monday off. Anyone want to meet up at the dog park? Addison or Denton would be preferable.

  • Jenny, Tucker, & Zoey

  • Jenny, Tucker, & Zoey

Tucker and I have been to about 10 agility classes now.. wanted to share our progress!

  • Curtis B

Outstanding! Looks like both of you are having fun!

  • Nicole & Emma

Emma was just spayed last week, which is hard to believe because she's back to her normal self, regardless of the staples she has. I'd like to take her out, but I was told two weeks. Anyone else had a similar experience after spaying?

  • Lauren, Zeus, and Watson

Watson's going to be 4 months old on the 15th. Should I take him to the Dog Park this weekend?

  • Curtis B

Does Watson have his rabies shot and tags? I know the Plano dog park requires dogs to have had their rabies shots and have city tags.  Kirby's not scheduled to have his rabies shot until late this month, right around the time he turns 4 months, and can't get a Plano tag until he gets it.

  • Lauren, Zeus, and Watson

He does indeed have his rabies shot. That's why I'm excited to go. I think I'm going to Wagging Tail for the first time he goes. I haven't gotten him his city tag yet.

Some fun times in the snow while we were back home for Christmas!!  Enjoy :)

  • Curtis B

Then Watson should be good to go!

  • Lauren, Zeus, and Watson

:( Can't go this weekend. Family member died, so I have to attend a funeral.

  • Shelly Duell

We need another meetup soon!  Anyone free on any upcoming weekends?

  • Nicole & Emma

Em and I are usually free Sundays. I'd be happy to bring my camera and grab photos too!

Guys I have a male red and white and a female tricolor that I need to find a good home for. My wife works at the SPCA and these were owner surrendered to them, we believe they were a breeding pair in a puppy mill as you can tell the female has had several litters and both were unfixed. Anyways we found a very nice home for them with a couple that had a corgi mix and a Great Pyrenese (I'm sure I misspelled that). Things were great four about six months but the the Pyrenese began to pick on the male corgi and the female defended him. Needless to say the corgi lost that fight and they have had to pay over a thousand in vet bills. Both of them are staying with us while we find a new home. They are sooo sweet, we have a red and white female Pembroke and they get along great, we have three cats and have had no problems. The last owners had smal lchildren and that was not an issue so I beleive the only problem would be a home with a larger dominant dog. If you are interested in finding these two a forever home please contact me 337-356-6716. We are in Midland.

  • Casie

I'll come to a meet up! I just adopted Conney a couple of weeks ago, and she loves doggy play time!
  • Danielle

sundays are usually fine for us -- after noon is better.

  • Shelly Duell

Great!  Let's plan on Sunday!  Any requests for location?  I'm of course partial to Denton, but we'll go anywhere!

  • Danielle

How about Fort Woof? Can we meet about 2?
  • Nicole & Emma

Ft. Woof would be a bit far from us, bc we are in Carrolton. So, Addison is closer but I could trek out to Denton. It's larger than Wagging Tail to be fair.

Shelly - is Emmy coming? Emma would love to meet them :p
  • Tara Braas

Rook and I just joined this group, but we're looking forward to coming! :)

  • Shelly Duell

Yay! Rook is such a cutie! I would prefer closer than fort woof if possible, but it doesn't matter to me. Denton people, we can all take my car...Corgi caravan!!!!!
  • Chris Duffy

We live in Frisco and have two Corgi's, 7-yo Roscoe and 6-mo old baby Evie. We'd love a get together, but, honestly, I'm not driving out to FW or Denton. Frisco has a new dog park and Plano has the great Jack Carter dog park. If there's others in far North Dallas who'd like to do a weekend play date closer to this area, we'd love that.

  • Casie

I'd prefer something in the Carrollton/North Dallas/Plano area since we live in Carrollton :)

  • Suneera and Emmy

Hey guys! Emmy and I will probably be there as well! If we are doing it at Fort Woof, we would love to ride with you, Shelly! I hope Ben and Jappy can come!

  • Nicole & Emma

Is everyone okay with me bringing my camera to snap photos? Just want to check so I don't seem ultra creepy to anyone.

  • Shelly Duell

People already think I'm a creepy Corgi stalker anyway... go for it :)  So...Fort Worthians...I've driven way down to you many times...would anyone be really upset if we did a North Dallas meetup this time?  I'm cool with Denton, Frisco, or Plano - Frisco's probably the most central.  We could also do lunch at the Londoner!  The patio's supposed to be dog-friendly (especially for the queen's dog!)  Let me know what you guys think!

  • Katherine Jones Burns

Preston would love to come if we're looking at Frisco rather than FW. What's a good park up there?

  • Danielle

We've only been to the Plano park before, but anywhere North Dallas-ish is fine -- what is the name of the park so we can get directions?  I think it will be Roo's turn, since he's all healed and can run around again (yeah! say we all who lived with him in captivity for 8 weeks, lol).

  • Nicole & Emma

They have a nice shaded sitting area at the Frisco park. :)
  • Nicole & Emma

What time is good for everyone?? I can do whatever.

  • Shelly Duell

How's 1:00?  It looks like the address is 3335 4th Army Memorial Rd., Frisco, TX  - south of the ball fields.  Let me know if that's wrong (I've never been).  Denton people, send me a note if you wanna ride together.  My car knows the way! :)

  • Chris Duffy

Okay, I got the Frisco thing started, and now we're unexpectedly going out of town for the weekend. Isn't that the way it always goes? The Frisco park is nice, yes, that's the address, and it does, indeed have a nice shaded seating area.

If folks like it, then maybe this location can be in the regular rotation and we'll make the next one. Best wishes...Chris

  • Casie

What time on Sunday?  12 or 1?  I look forward to meeting everyone!

  • Shelly Duell

I don't think I can make it before 1:00.  The Denton people are planning to leave at 12:15, so we should make it right at 1.  I might bring my lunch!

  • Shelly Duell

The meet-up today was awesome!!!  We probably had 15 corgis at one point or another - they were everywhere!  Here are a few pictures I snapped with my phone, but I know there are much better ones out there:

  • Denise Gilbert James

Thanks for sharing your pics.  You just had to get a "Corgi butt" shot in there. LOL  I am sure there was no dog hairs in your car after the fact.. ha ha ...

  • Casie

  • Jackie (Lilu & Loki)

I'm sad I missed the meet up today because I was at work. But I went to Wagging Tail after work, and lucky for me there were 3 other corgi's there! So Lilu and Loki at least got to play with a few corgis today. Hopefully I can make the next meet up.
