Sorry we missed today, and I'm sorry we won't make many more.  We actually moved back to Houston this week.  Emma seems excited - every time I as her, "Wanna move to Houston?!" she tilts her little head.  We'll have to find some playmates down here!  We'll miss y'all!

We need to do another meet up soon!  It was a lot of fun!

Thanks for posting the pictures of the meet-up!  It looks like everyone had a great time!  I saw lots of smiling corgis!!!

By the way, the Denton folks went down to the Londoner afterwards for some grub.  They have a dog-friendly patio and awesome food.  I think we should end every future meet-up with that!  Really awesome day!!

Two questions. Is anyone entering or going to the North Texas Corgi's show in Ft. Worth (has judging and akc trials from what I scanned over briefly) and when are we doing our Feb Meetup!?

Are you referring to the one in March?  I didn't know about it until you mentioned it.  Kirby's not a show dog and still has to take basic obedience, but we may go so he can see all his fancy cousins.

Yes, the one in March. I just happened to stumble upon it earlier. 

I can't show Emma either since she is a mismark, but since we are going to be entering Agility training this year I thought that might be fun to see. Seems intimidating though, having never been to this kind of thing before.

I'll probably go the show. I double checked the show info, and they don't allow dogs that are not entered...so Blaze and Diamond will get to stay at home.

Nope, you have to have a dog in the show.  If you attend and do not have one, you will have to use one of the loaner dogs they keep around for just such an occasion.

Took the kids and Kirby to Joe Carter in Plano.  Met a tri and a blue merle Cardi there.

Emma & I have finished Intermediate training, and have about a month & a half before we start Agility. In the mean time, since the weather is getting better - I'd like to take her out hiking and teach her to walk off-leash. If anyone is perhaps interested in joining us, I'm not proposing anything more than like a day hike on a weekend. (Boo, real jobs.) Please let me know. 

Tucker and I could be down for some hiking... on leash, though!

We would be game!  Felix is an expert hiker!  We took him to Colorado twice last summer and he was climbing boulders like it was nothing!  Amazing how those little legs can climb :)

Aw, so excited you guys responded. Suneera and I were discussing going on the 26th. But, I'm not really sure where people go to hike around here.. Suggestions? 

Arbor Hills is nice for hiking, but Animal Control does monitor to ensure dogs are on a leash. They require a leash no longer than 6 feet (no retractable leashes).

Any groomer recommendations out there? 

I really really love Glamour Paws on Forest Park in central Ft. Worth.  They know what they are doing, are very gentle even with my fraidy-cat Roo, and have always done a great job.  Nino actually looks forward to his visits there!! 

This weekend Felix and I headed out to the North Texas Irish Festival.  It turned out to be more like a CORGI Festival!!  We met 10 new corgi friends and their owners :) I told most of them about our group.  So anyone who I met on Saturday, welcome to mycorgi!! 

Aw man... I was so tempted to go, now I wish I had!! Oh well, maybe next year... We should try to have a corgi day on purpose then.

Yay! Sounds good to me. :) Speaking of corgi days - we should do another meet up! My only request would be to have it on a day other than Sunday because I work. I know most other people probably work during the week, though I'm usually the most free Monday or Thurs afternoon. But I could also do kind of a late Sat afternoon if anyone else could do that, especially if it's around Dallas somewhere.

Yeah!  Another corgi meet up!  Anytime is fine...I work the standard 9-5 during the week.

I work 9-5 too. Weekends are preferable. 

I have class on Monday and Thursday nights, and work until at least 3 on most days. Thankfully we're getting more light at night right now, so if we do it later on a weekday, we might be able to drive to Dallas. I can do this Sunday afternoon, but with Spring Break, conferences, and midterms, the next weekend I have free is April 14th.

I am completely wide open this week!  Spring Break for me!  Also with the extra light in the evenings, I could probably make it out on a weeknight.  

I could definitely do a weekday evening (or Sat after 3 if weekend is better for everyone), but could we just do it on a day other than Tues? Maybe Wed, Thurs or Fri? I have a clinical this Tues or I would be free next Tues.

Guys, need some recommendations if you have any. I was hoping to start Emma in Agility Classes in 2-3 weeks. But, the schedule at our facility is not going to be offering Agility 1 this session. Do you guys have any recommendations for places to take an intro class? 

So when does everybody want to have a corgi meet up? I can't wait to see a herd of cogis playing and Gallifrey loves to get to play with other dogs that are his height.

Saturday afternoon would work for us.  Got Kirby's obedience class starting Sunday.

Emma and i can make Saturday afternoon.

I could attend Sat around 4 or so, but I thought someone else had said next Tues at 5? I guess Sat is better for everyone? Well that's fine with me as long as it kind of goes into the late afternoon. (And hopefully not too far away - where did everyone want to meet?)

I vote Wagging Tail (I'm there pretty much every evening anyways), Frisco, Lewisville, or Plano.  I don't know of any others- besides Addison which is terrible and depressing.

I'm good with Wagging tail or Lewisville. I'm not sure how packed Lewisville is on the weekends, but it's got a lot of space to accommodate the influx of dogs. And it accommodates whoever needs to drive in from Ft. Worth.
