Just a girl from NC whose life has been touched by the stubby paw of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
About My Corgi(s):
Baxter is a wonderful little guy. I've watched him grow and change from a little fuzzball to a well rounded young dog. He keeps everyone laughing with his antics. He's very smart and picks up on things quickly and he's always wililng to learn new things. Though if he's tired he will complain. He's a laid back pup, loves his naps. Though someone crunching down on a bite of food will bring him out of a deep coma. He's a whole lot of fun and its hard to imagine life before without him in it.
Hi everyone. I've been browsing around the site finding lots of helpful information for the first time corgi owner along with some corgi hilarity. I've been researching this breed for months now and I am just smitten with these little guys. So this is my puppy in the photo, this picture was taken by the breeder this past saturday. I can't wait to snuggle this puff ball.
I am having trouble coming up with a name though...I thought I might ask fellow corgi owners for perhaps some ideas? Anyone have a suggestion? I'd be most grateful.
Hey Nicole, there's actually quite a large Corgi population in NC, one of the member attended a corgi picnic last year and had over 300 corgis attend the event. you can connect with other corgi owners from NC by typing in NC in the search box. Glad you're enjoying the site!
Welcome...you're in for tons of laughs with your little guy. He looks like he's a blue. Pumpkin is as well & also came from N. Carolina, Greensboro. He's just darling, anything we can do just ask.
Thanks! Congrats to you as well! I feel fortunate that I found a great breeder and was able to basically purchase the pup before he was born so I could see him grow up - even if it is just through pictures for a couple months!
I did that for my litter of corgi puppies. I think it helps for the new owners to bond to the puppy before he/she arrives. The last week or 2 will be the hardest to wait.
This is a great place to be to get ready for the new arrival. I have had Corgis for a while now, but I am continually learning something new from the great people on this site. It is hard to wait. We just picked up our new addition this weekend. I can understand how excited you must be! Congratulations!
Last May was our first Corgi litter. Only have had corgis for alittle over 2 years now but you can't get enough of them.
Both of my girls just had their litters today. wasn't expecting for anther week at least, Muffin had 8 and Buttercup had 3 but we lost one.
It will be a ton of fun around here in about 3 weeks when their eyes are open and they want to play
Hi Nicole. . .he is adorable. . . .I'm sure you'll have many, many fun days with your new Corgi. . .Cloe was just spayed on the 8th. . .but she still acts like a puppy (actually, she still is, only 7 mths old). . .when I got her she was 2 mths and full of energy. . .she hasn't stopped. . .she chases Sid and Babs all over the yard. . .they have such a good time together, just "being Corgis". . . .
You're so right, Corgis are potatoe chip dogs. . . .I am so delighted with my pack I'm thinking I might-just might think about getting a 4th baby. . .now it's just a thought, but I just can't help it. . .they are so lovable and soooo much fun to be with. . .I can't stand it!!! LOL. . .you will never regret getting your new baby. . .you will have memorable and enjoyable days ahead. . .good luck--if you have any quesitons or concerns about your new baby, I'm sure you'll get plenting of good advice from everyone here!!!
Thank you for the kind words. We are what some people term as "vet poor" but we wouldn't have it any other way. :-D It's a good thing that I work for a vet and get a discount on services. You can bet that there's no shortage of love in our home.
Er well...before I do that I want to check with the breeder to make sure its okay for me to be posting these pictures, I should have asked for sure. Don't think she will mind, but want to make sure. :) Pictures hopefully soon to come soon. :)
His legs are gone! LOL! Well I suppose they are short enough to get lost under the little budda belly. :-) He is such a peanut - I want to squeeze him!
yes lots of snuggling waiting for him!! =D haha. He's six weeks now, i wonder how his ears are!!!!! =D, so it looks like you have only ONE more week to go? I am so jealous!!!
haha! Well! It looks like we'll have our puppies the same day - I am going to go get him next Saturday too! I've got a 3 hour drive, never thought of going halfway and spending the night somewhere... hmmmm... =P Can't wait to see pictures!
there will defintely be a lot of pictures! ahhhhh... =) and youve got time zone working for you too! lol! he is sooo cute. we are sooo ready! and dont forget its daylight savings time tonight, so we get to skip fwd an hour!!!!!
thank you for your comment and your thoughts on me and my new snake. that was EXACTLY what i needed to hear and couldn't find anyone to tell me. and i got to see an adorable baby puppy because of it!!! aren't you lucky?!?!?! look at your little one, how perfect! i remember when bear was that tiny... good luck with bringing your baby boy home. you're gonna love your brilliant little boy... just watch cesar milan and never feed him pizza rolls, lol! good luck!
I've gone completely nuts too!!! =P I even did a contruction paper cutout of his name and stuck it to the kitchen wall in the area he will be staying while I am at work (I was trying to decorate... lol)..,.. You'll see.. LOL... =D I had to pick up this last minute stuffed hippo I saw yesterday for him too ... =)
You should (Cut the name Baxter off the box)!! It's garbage to them anyways! Maybe I can make a trip to costco and do the same with their Bailey's Irish Cream boxes! =DDDDDDD . LOL, yea I think I bought too many things too.. Including treats!!!! =P .. But I don't know what he likes yet, so we have to test them right?!? Lol!!! I have to justify it somehow!!!
as you can see.. this website is on in my background continuously while I am working, I can't help it! =X I am suprised I am still able to get my work done!
=D mann… ok ive got 3 more hours! Hah! Darn the time difference! =P A part of me still can't believe I will have a puppy in my arms in less than 24 hours. We've waited long enough =).
Hello there!. . . .your bundle of joy is so cute I just want to reach out and hug (squeeze) him. . . .my Corgis definitely own me. . .they guide my every move. . .lol. . .yesterday I went and bought them all new toys, etc. and the person at the counter looked at me with a surprise (I won't tell you how much I spent) but this I can say it's ALL worth it. . .they are my life. . . .♥
hii!!! bii baxter! bailey is home and omg... soooooo busy. well i found some time while he was napping to upload pics and video! enjoy them! cant wait to see yours!!!!
thank you! right now i think she looks like a little cow (a cute one), and i'm excited to see how she grows up. where in tennessee is your breeder at? (oh and your baxter is just adorable too!)
