About My Corgi(s):
Name: Lance
Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi(Blue Merle)
Birthday: October 30, 2005.
Current Age: 8 1/2
RIP 5-3-14

Was an only dog for 5 years, but not anymore! Learning about sharing, I hear sharing is good. :) I have corgi buddies already so hopefully it wont be too hard to share with my brother.

Lance is a pure breed cardigan corgi, at the moment he may appear like he is not because his ears are floppy. Lance is dealing with auto immune issues and vasculitis of the ears which affects the blood flow in his ears.

Name: Tucker
Breed: Red and White Pembroke. Was rescued from the
shelter March 6, 2011
Birthday: October 12, 2007
Current Age: 6

Tucker is a sweetheart, seems quite comfy here. :) So glad to be out of the shelter. I was so sweet the first time I met my potential owners I gave them lots of corgi kisses, I stole their hearts. <3
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

Oh poor Lance...its such a worry when they don't feel well. Don't you wish they could just tell you? :-) I hope he is on the mend soon. Spence's ears are clearing up...he really HATES the drops. It takes both of us to put them in..we spend more time trying to catch him!

    keep me posted on Lance!
  • Furpants McGee

thank you...she IS A HANDFUL!!! i'm feeling like a new mom cuz my days are fueled by LOTS of coffee just so i can keep up with her!
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

well, i was thinking about Lance so I thought I would drop you a note....just re-signed Spencer for more obedience classes at the pet spa...I really liked the trainer we had last time. we start this sunday
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

Yikes!!!! I HATE water in the house...one of my pet peeves. Spence is just going to "re-visit" basic obedience. I have been very lazy when it has come to training...by the time I get home in the evening its almost 7 and most nights I just want to sit on the patio with my chardonnay...shame on me! did you get your laundry done?
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

Just discovered that Remi that is here on the site is Spencer's sister! I am so happy to find his littermates. Jenny that owns Ziggy..ziggy is his 1/2 brother. small world!
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

    Hows lance?
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

Spencer is doing well....we had our first obedience class on Sunday...he did ok, but I really need to work with him a lot more!!! He was happy to see Kristin the trainer again.
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Hi natalie! How is it going with the frizbee? I bought Corey a Kong that is covered with fabric - Kong Wubba. How long do you think?
    arline
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Natalie the Kong has lasted one whole day!!! I am so sorry to hear about Lance and his foot.
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

Have you ever done any clicker training with Lance? We have a really good book on it. Spence's trainer trains that way..its the click and treat method...you know, Corgi's will do just about anything for food! We are working on waiting at the door and waiting for food. This week's training is "go to your mat"....that should be interesting!
Glad to hear Lance's foot seems to be better...if you and lance are ever passing through Oak Lawn, let me know..I am sure Spence would love a corgi friend, all his friends currently are BIG dogs!
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Corey is the aggressive chewer. Most of the toys that I get him last... 5 .9 secs and then they are destroyed... The Kong has made day two!!!
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

HA HA HA HA! To bad you don't live closer I would love to meet you and Lance..
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Their are only two sets of corgis that I know of. There are some other corgis approx. an hour to two hours away.
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

Clicker training is easy....its all about the timing.
  • Dannielle

Thanks :o) I am trying to enjoy them but sometimes I just wish time would speed up! LoL enjoy ur day!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

I know what you mean...there are times I wish time would just slow down! lol It is like when we were little kids we always always wished to be big and then it happens and then you dont want it, lol! Oh well thats life, enjoy your days with your new puppy. I cant wait to see lots of pictures : )

Hi Natalie, Good for you for watching what your daughter sees. I haven't had children but if I had, I would be like you. They are losing their innocence SO young. Help them keep it as long as possible. Joy
  • Butter

PS, I find as I am getting older that I have to be a lot more careful about what I am watching. Movies and TV can be so incredibly violent and horrible language; it really affects me if I watch something. I am trying to remember to watch for ratings on the box of DVD's before I rent. Sometimes a movie seems relatively harmless and you get into the plot and it can go dark really fast. By then I am hooked and want to know what happends but am learning the hard way that I need to just turn it off. We have started to do that now.
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

    3 days on the Kong!
  • Furpants McGee

natalie, thanks dor the kind message. I can use all the positive hopes and prayers I can get. our marriage is so premature for him to just walk out on me. I think it may be a small mid life crisis...he'll be 30 this year, no promising job opportunities...and now being married. I'm just trying to stay positive and am trying to take care of me. Thank God I have Abby....she keeps me smiling and won't let me stay in bed (which is what I want to do)
  • Reese

Aw thanks! I hope she wins... I'll be such a proud mom.
  • Karen & Bailey

yea he is! thanks! haha ive desensitized him towards the vacuum now. he used to bark at it non stop and try to attack it, but i put him on leash and walked him around while i was vacuuming, displining him with a tug if he barked, giving him a treat if he stayed quiet. it works! now he doesnt have to be on lead and hell bark once or twice but i say a stern uh uh and hell just quiet down and watch me or follow me.
  • Cliff Wroe

I think maybe a little Shepherd? She is tall for a corgi, but has a long body. I will put some other pics up maybe someone can tell me better.
  • Karen & Bailey

haha cool! iwish bailey just ran and hid. hes too much of a "im the big man" to do that.. haha.

    have a nice weekend!
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

I can't believe it. The kong is still going. It has a little tear but that is it!! I still haven't figured out how to put the slide show on but I made it through the first step. I put the pictures on face book. I will go from there ...

Thanks, I got it off of Photobucket.com. I love that website!
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Natalie the fire hose toy sounds cool. Did you purchase on line? The Wabba is still going... unbelievable...

  • Corey & Holly's Mom

It is unbelievable how dogs will find the one area of a toy that can be destroyed. I need to go on a wabba check. I have not seen it today. Did you ever find that episode of the funniest home video again? How is it going with the doorbell training? my dogs sound like a fog horn and an alarm clock going off in my house. One has a very low bark and one has an ear piercing high bark. :)
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Lance has a cool bed. What kind is it?
  • Reese

Aw thank you for such a nice comment and also for all of your support!
  • Judy

Thanks Natalie. It is fun having one of each. They're so different, yet both so precious. And they get along great. It's just too much fun!
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

How do you find dog beds so cheap? I usually see them for 30+ dollars... Boy, did you luck out!!
  • Furpants McGee

yes she ran out the back and my neighbor saw someone pick her up and drive away
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Cool! I will look for the beds. Holly needs one. Yes, I found the wubba and it is still intact except for a few threads pulled on the sides..
  • Suzanne

As for the Natural Balance. Henry did rub his noes a lot. He licked and rubbed his butt so much it almost glowed it was so red. He also did the paw chewing... Try one of the grain free, 95% meat. My guys like the Evo beef soooo much the practically lick the paint off the bowls... I get a break (small but it helps) buying it through k9cuisine.com...
  • Juel

Thank you! I have been admiring your baby for quite a while! I was saving for my fur baby but know i have to move, my room mate is can't keep finacally aflot being a single mom, so she is moving back in with her folks to regroup. that first, last, deposit is a killer! oh well good things come to those who wait! i guess :? So upsetting about furpants! I wish I could hug her and help look!
  • Stefanie and Niko

Thanks!! He's been such a good puppy so far!
  • Stefanie and Niko

He's 12 weeks old. He's from North Carolina.
  • Furpants McGee

well she's back! the right person picked her up and saw my flyers I put up. I got her back within 5 hours but it was the worst 5 hours of my life....no husband then to have the one thing that makes me happy taken!!?? *sigh* I'm just so vey thankful
  • Furpants McGee

no he's not. I just rented out my living room for extra $ to a stranger...life is pretty bad for me right now.
  • Furpants McGee

unfortunately he is not responding...he is happy at mommys house...ugh. I had to rent out my living room to a stranger so I can survive!! but, my christian faith is what has helpd me....i have my good days and bad days. I don't know what he wants so all I can do is live day by day and do what's right for myself. thanks for the support. this is really hard to go thru!!
  • Suzanne

Not so much his ears more his feet and bottom. He did rub his face a lot. I don't recall ears and with these things you'd notice. OH Yeah, the other dog had the itchy ears...
  • Suzanne

A friend of mine did the wood burning of Henry as a thank-you. It's the best gift I've had in years!
  • Adam & Brittany

No problem. Depends on how adapted you are to cold weather. Since I moved to Florida from Tennessee and am so used to cold winters, I'm usually still swimming well into November and even December. It typically still gets into at least the 70's if not 80's each day with lows around 60 degrees in the evenings through October. October is really a good time to come, typically. It is warm out but not unbearable like over the summer.
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

    Hi Natalie,
Spencer is doing fine now.....no more ear problems. He is challenging me on his food right now....he will walk over to the bowl, look at the food and then look at me as if to say,"you expect me to eat THIS AGAIN?".....Oh they can be so stubborn sometimes!

    Hows Lance?
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

Did you get a wubba? How are you?
  • Furpants McGee

Yes, I LOVE the song too. i heard it on a local radio station here then had to download it. :)
  • Corgi Mom

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We are still grieving and are taking it one day at a time.
  • Furpants McGee

i really hope it was the kitty food. i feed the cats up on the kitchen table but she's learning to jump up and by hitting the table she can sometimes knock the bowls down. (it's not a very sturdy table) and she got practically a whole serving last night! by the time i discovered she was eating it, it was pretty much gone. her vomit looked as if it was from that, so i'm just hoping when i get home there isn't more for me. she and i also spent some time with jake last night. he was acting very loving...so maybe he's coming around. i dunno. i'm trying to play a little hard to get...don't want to be at his "beckoned call"...but i miss him so much. i hope he comes home soon and we can move forward and not have this happen again. my emotions can't handle it!!
  • Corey & Holly's Mom

That is great that you brought Lance with you to the meeting with your daughter's teacher. As a teacher myself I would love to meet everyone in the child's family. Best of wishes to your daughter for a great school year...
