I am big Kansas Jayhawk fan that is why I named my Cardigan Welsh Corgi Phog. I fell in love with the Cardigan's because of a family member that had one. I don't know if I could own another breed of dog.
About My Corgi(s):
I have one Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Her name is Phog. She just turned 7 at the end of November. Phog enjoys walking around the neighborhood. The kids in my neighborhood love her because she is always trying to herd them into the right area and they get a kick out of eluding her. They always ask to play "tag" with her.
Welcome..Phog's coloring is beautiful. I want to get a Cardigan Welsh Corgi for Kirby to have as his friend. I think it would be fun to have one of each!
I do have my hands full. They provide so much entertainment. I don't know what I would do without them. We feel fortunate that Fern made the transistion so well.
What beautiful coloring she has! Where is Gardner near by? Our work brought us to KS. We live near Wichita. Do you know of any Corgi clubs or gatherings in KS? I love that you have a chaise by the window for her!
Phog has beautiful coloring! Thats so funny about how Phog herds the neighborhood children. Pa'ani likes to herd the dogs at the dog park...herd and organize! I was thinking that Pa'ani should have a friend eventually, but Im not sure about the two distinctively different personalities between cardigans and pemmies. Any thoughts?
I thought Phog was a blue merle, Lance is as well! Thanks for the compliment on Lance. I know what you mean about keeping up with the shedding luckily we only have to keep up with one dog shedding! The other dogs in the pictures are my neighbors (Border Colllie mix and German Shepard Mix) Lance loves to go over and play with them in their fenced in yard. We are still working on getting a fence! The pug is my sisters!
I thought that too, and the club is oriented toward that audience. But I figure it's for me to put a different spin on things! We're performance only. We do agility and are attempting herding and tracking. Right now we're not training in herding or tracking. Too hot. But we're still trying for agility. The people in the club are super nice.
Le-Le was traveling with us all the time until just the last few weeks when we were working in hotels that did not take dogs. She has her own special seat between my husband and I in our van. She leans into Gary and he has to drive with his arm around her so her head is propped up. So cute. I will try and get a picture some time though Le-Le is still a little wary of the camera. We at first had her in her crate but felt she was not bonding with us well enough. First time we had her up front she tried to jump in the back and hide but she soon got the hang of it. Now she climbs on to her chair right away. Never gets in our seats while she is waiting for us. So cute to see her sitting there. We get lots of great comments when we travel. She likes camping best versus a hotel and I can tell if the hotel is not clean enough because she hides or just wants to get up on the bed. We brings extra big towels for her to sit on in the hotels. Great fun to have her with us and we miss her if she is not with us.
He sure is a character :) How do you like that breeder? I'm hoping for another Cardigan after I get my Newf, and I'm undecided on where I want to get my Cardi from, since Regis' breeder no longer breeds anymore!
Well Phog is just gorgeous, so I'll look into that breeder for sure!
I have always wanted X-Large dogs, but never had a chance to get one because in California, I had to rent a small apartment. So when I moved to TN and am renting a house with a yard, I'm finally able to get the dog of my dreams. I picked a Newf because I've always been fond of them, I'm looking forward to the grooming challenge, and there caring, gentle personality is just unbeatable. So I am on top of trying to get the (brown) Newf of my dreams :)
Pyre's are so adorable. They were also a dog I had considered. How is he liking his Pyre?
yes, we can't wait for them to stand. Hopefully they will both stand without any problems. The breeder did say that because he has such big ears we will probably have to tap them. Did you tape yours? At what age did they go up?
Finnigan turned 3 months yesterday. Maybe he's just a late bloomer. If they aren't showing signs of going up in the next couple weeks we will start taping. I wish we lived close enough to our breeder to have him tape Finn's ears but he's in another state. I've looked at several different methods online and the breeder has shown me pictures of how he does it so we'll just give it our best shot. :)
