About My Corgi(s):
Norah (January 2009) just recently joined out family and is currently living with my fiance in Iowa. She is a corgi/heeler mix and the sweetest dog I've ever met. She's not even a year and has been through three homes. She loves to run and say hi to everyone.

Lucy (November 2007) is a rascal. She can go for long walks through the neighborhood without a leash on and stay right at my heel, on other days she takes off to play with our neighbor's dog when she is supposed to being going potty. Swimming is her absolute favorite thing to do besides play chase with bigger dogs. She also enjoys playing 'take the bone away' with our other dog and barking at animals on tv.
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

I just keep coming back to look at Little Lucy's face. She is so darn cute. Such a nice picture that you have for your profile pix. How old is you little girl?
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

    Welcome Lucy and Kerby!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Your Welcome! Thank you so much for the compliments. When we started our search for a corgi, my husband wanted a pembroke. I called a breeder and she had a litter already, (what luck), so we went to go take a look with our kids. I had seen a picture of a blue merle but my husband wasnt sold on it as he really wanted a pembroke. Well once we went to see the litter of puppies Lance really captured our hearts, even my husband who so wanted a pembroke he thought, he he! I feel like we got really lucky to get him not only did we find him right away when we started looking, blue merles are so hard to find! It was meant to be. My husband is so happy to have a blue merle. It would be nice one day to add a pembroke but it will probably be a long while. We are going to visit my brother in law in Minnesota in June and they have a pembroke, cant wait for the corgis to get together for the first time.
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Oh yeah Lance say Thanks for the wonderful compliments and looking at my pictures. Lucy is adorable. Cant wait to see more cute pictures of Lucy. Lucy is adorable. How old is Lucy?
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

he he...sorry lack of sleep...it has been a long day...I was reading your profile and realized I messed it up and just rewrote it, then realized I posted it on my page....yikes....time for sleep!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Lucy's avatar picture is so sweet, aww I wish Lance was 6 months again. Did you get my friend request?>
  • WhiteDove

    Welcome Kerby. . .Lucy is adorable. . . .isn't puppy love grand?. . . .
  • Kristen

Our little Brodie just turned five months and they look very similar. Brodie looks like he is going to keep his little black mask and stay a BHT.
  • Jenni & Dave Fields

Welcome Kerby and Lucy! Spencer is also 5 months. I know one of his littermates went to a family out near you...our breeder was in Springfield, IL.

Always nice to see fellow Illinois corgi owners here!
  • Katie

Lucy is adorable! I wanna hug her!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Kerby thanks for the invite to the Illinois Corgi get together but we will be unable to attend as we will be out of town. :( Sounds like it will be a fun time.
  • Katie

Hi Kerby- pardon the tigermania. It won't last long! :) before long, it will be back something less noxious! :)
  • Kelly

I know! When I saw you were from Batavia, I got excited :) I hope I can make it too, Gibson will still be pretty young then, so I wasn't sure if he should go. What dog park do you take Lucy to? I'm already researching where I can take him to, and saw one in St. Charles and one in Aurora (but you have to pay for that one). Let me know!
  • Kristen

I don't, but I might be able to find out. Although, I have had trouble getting responses from the rescue organization. All I know is that they said it was a "small" puppy mill. Only 70 breeders. Sounds big to me, but I guess there are many with hundreds of breeding dogs. They were going to pare it down to about half that. It was an elderly couple that ran the mill. Not as bad as most since they regularly let the dogs out of the cages to run. If I find out more I will let you know. Why do you ask?
  • Kelly

Oh nice, I didn't know there was one in Batavia! We'll have to check it out when Gibson is old enough :)
  • Kristen

I don't think this one was ever prosecuted. It was pretty small by Missouri standards, but the rescue group that I worked through takes in a lot of mill dogs. They tend to go after the big ones. Maybe they would know something about her. Forever Friends out of Kansas City is the group I got her from. Did she come with papers? I don't have any papers on Fern. What was the name of the "farm" she came from? I would like to know a little bit more about Fern as well, but haven't had much luck. She is so small compared to my other Corgis--I actually wondered if there isn't a cross with a Jack Russell somewhere in her lineage...I suppose a mill breeder would never share that. Kerby looks like a delight. She actually looks a bit like Fern in her face shape and body type.

Sophie is the tri color puppy. Lucy is almost 5. We did have another tri color (Shelby), but had to put her down unexpectedly about a year ago. That's when Sophie came into our lives. They are such great dogs!
  • Christina Grinius

Thank you for the compliment! I really enjoyed hosting the corgi picnic, and everything seemed to turn out just fine! All those corgis seemed to love running around and frapping with each other. I hope to see you next year!
  • Jen

Awww, I'm so sad I missed the corgi picnic! I'm glad everyone had so much fun. :) Please let me know if you'll be able to make it to the corgi hike at Starved Rock on Sunday, Oct. 12th. Thanks!
  • Jen

I ended up postponing it because nobody could make it. :( Maybe I'll be a little less ambitious and try to set up a dog park meet-up. Do you & Lucy have a favorite one in or near Chicago?
  • Randi with Elphie, Tommy and Puppies

Hi Kerby, I'm finally catching up on my correspondence with my new friends. Lucy has such captivating eyes...shes really a cutie! With such a nice figure, too. My Tommy is looking like a foot stool. Of course food is his life! I mean he even eats things that aren't food.
  • Kelly

    thanks for your purchases!!! :)

  • Kelly

I'd love to get together sometime! Are there any places you have in mind? I don't think I could go to the Batavia one since you need a membership :)
  • Kelly

haha that's true! Let me know the next time you're thinking of going. I have not been to a dog park yet..the only place I take Gibson is to a lake in Sycamore, and I let him off leash when no one else is around (which is always) :)
  • Rhiannon

I wish my Lucy would get into and play in the water like your Lucy!
  • Kelly

Thank you Kerby! We're soo excited! :)
  • Lucy's & Emma's Mom

I didn't realize that there were so many corgis named Lucy. That's all right I love my Lucy just the same.
  • Lucy's & Emma's Mom

On Dogster.com Lucy is the Number two name. http://www.dogster.com/stats/popular_names.php
  • Lucy's & Emma's Mom

Thank you!! I wasn't planning on getting a new puppy for a while, but there was a flyer up in one of the stores and when I saw her picture I fell in love! So we called and went to the farm to look at her and fell in love even more and had to take her home. Were thinking about breeding her when she get older. She still haven't came up with a name.
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Hope you and Lucy can make the Chicago meet up..... : )
  • Lauren and Daisy

Lucy looks very much like Daisy. I got Daisy from Oklahoma. The breeders name is Robin west.
  • Lauren and Daisy

    Cute tail.
  • Winnie the Wookie

Yes, Winnie LOVES to fetch, although she's recalcitrant to actually giving it back - she makes you work for it ;) Indoors, we have a little "routine" - I toss a toy, she brings it back, drops it somewhat near me, then I ask, "Can I have that?" and she immediately springs for it and plays keep away. Outdoors, my husband and I take turns having her fetch a toy (she LOVES the "barbell" tennis ball), then manically call her back to us. She tends to run past us a few feet, backs up, and the game of give it up/keep away begins.
Lucy's gorgeous - my husband wants a tri for our next; I want a tri too but want to wait, puppyhood is a lot of (fun) work.
  • Kelly

Aw man! I have rally class on Wednesdays with Gibson otherwise I would so want to come to opening day of the park! Maybe we can meet up some other time? Can you pay the fee at the actual park?
  • Kelly

Again we can't make it! We're leaving for vacation tonight!
  • Crystal & Bella

Hi Kerby and Lucy! I wanted to stop by and greet a fellow corgi lover and RFL member. I wish your mother well. I have been a team captain for several years while at FSU. We have recently moved to Chicago after living in Florida all our lives! So the snow will be new =)
  • Chris and Andrew

It was so nice meeting you yesterday. Lucy is a cutie pie! Jeter seemed to enjoy running with Lucy so much and they were really cute together. Hope Jeter can have another chance to play with her again soon.
