I live in a small town, and will be getting my first corgi shortly
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Wynstan was born on October 3, 2009. He is just a little ball of energy. He loves food and fetching but still trying to master the frisbee. He is wonderfully goofy. So far, his favorite past time is to pester the Bailey, our German Shepherd, until she is ready to play.
Congratulations. Wynston is a DOLL! I remember how excited I was waiting for the day I could bring my pups home. I almost drove everyone around me CRAZY...lol. I am so happy for you AND Wynston. I cant wait to see more pics!
Wynstan is adearable!! Corgis are super cool and such great little companions as they always want to be by your side! Algy and I are excited for you, seeing that your excited! Your profile picture caught my eye so I thought I should come and check out your other pictures. Wynstan is sweet!!! Thanks for joining us and sharing your photos!
oh gosh! I know how you feel about everyone being tired about "corgi this corgi that"
what can we say..its our first fur children. we should be proud! lol I used to go through everyones pictures to see the ones the odin may look like when he gets older:)
...omg! 12 hours! I want to start walking to the vets office to get him....just sitting here looking at all of his stuff laid out isn't helping! I have his collar and all the stuff i need to pick him up already sitting by the door....
Thanks for the kind words. We have been so close in our travels for the past five years that I can not imagine a life without him. Even though, he has turned into a grumpy little man. If god would let me build a dog anyway I wanted it would be Bear without the allergies. Oh yeah, and he wouldn't hog the bunk in the truck.
Wow...I love thrift stores! What a good deal! I was just looking at my best dog bed last night and said...if I had lots of $$$$ all my dogs would have one like this!!!
How nice! Don't really like Nightwish's new lead singer though, but the music is still good. Finnish music is the best! Just came home from Finland yesterday ;-)
You must be exited about getting your corgi. It is such a nice time when they are small and cute... But just as nice when they are grown up :-p You'll probably get stopped a thousand times while walking the little thing, everybody adores corgi pups.
Tarja, the old singer actually won an award as Finland's best singer once, and she sings opera, so it probably wont be the same, but sure hope Anette can get a little better (even though she is Swedish ;-) )
You could check out Apocalyptica, of cause I personally love H.I.M. and The Rasmus, and then there is the folk metal band Moonsorrow...
Hi Buddy & Wynstan
thank you for the welcomming comment! SA is ... well, how can I sum this up in a sentence....
I love where I live, near Johannesburg. Its been quite hot today, but looks like there'll be rain soon.Delete Comment
I've posted stuff about hiking with corgis elsewhere here.
I suggest getting dog hiking books specific to the southeast. There must be several. You have snakes and other critters down there that aren't an issue for us (we do have Pacific Timber Rattlers).
No big challenges until the dog is 1 year old -- you want the bones solid first. The breeder was firm with me about that. Then, regular exercise, just long walks, and don't let them get overweight. Then they'll walk as far as you're willing to. If you've access to an off-leash area, soccer ball or water polo ball; they'll chase it forever.
I would not put a backpack on a corgi.
Although our two are pretty good at rock scrambling now, most of what we do is simply trail hiking.
They usually stay quite close and I keep a quick-draw leash handy, held with rubber band.
Really Reliable Recall. You want them to pass the Porcupine Test.
For the photos, just learn to hold the camera in one hand, dog treat in the other. :-)
