No
About My Corgi(s):
We currently have 2 corgis. Lucky was about 9 months old when rescued from a snowbank on Christmas Eve 2001, he has had back surgery after being totally paralyzed and got his new wheels 6/17/10! He has been using a ramp to get up the front steps for about 9 months. Sonny came to us 4/26/09, when his family did not want to take him with them when they moved. He was 8 and never trained, socialized or taught to play! After a year, he still doesn't play or FRAP, but no longer stays in the back room.
I have:
Pembroke

Does he like doggie day care? I have a pet sitter come in at lunch time when I know I won't be in the area.

Hi! I'm sure Ginger will be absolutely perfect. At this point, any Corgi would be perfect. This has been a long time coming.
  • Judy M

Thanks for the welcome. Good luck to Lucky. I am a true dog (animal) lover so it huts me to think he is in need but I surely hope his need will be provided for. Judy

Oh I know we are looking high and low at rescues and people looking to re-home, but so far none in our area. But we aren't letting that discourage us!

Thanks Carol, I'm gonna get a bellyband & give it a try. I wont give up, I just want to find the best solution to be as stressless as possible, as I know he's already bothered by his peeing. Every morning I get up & he acts like he did something wrong, I just pat him on the head and take him outside for some play.

    Thank you for the welcome!!!

    Hi carol!
Thanks for asking...yes we are getting blasted with storms about every other day we have storm warning and Oshkosh probably has been having some too. It is so humid here today the dogs don't even want to be out! Comfrey lost 1/2 it's houses to a tornado about 12 years ago so people get a little paranoid! We have hed lots of wind/hail damage near here but so far we have been ok. I just hate that I can't be home with my animals if the weather gets really bad as usually one of us is around.
  • Kristin & Archie

Thanks Carol. Its Caleb, my 14yr old lab mix with the peeing problem. Archie is my corgi he's 1 1/2 and so far hasn't decided to follow in his big brothers peeing footsteps!!!
  • Hana

Yes, Bella and Wynn are her parents. Thanks for the warm welcome.
  • Kristin & Archie

Where do you get those bellybands again. I dont remember if you said or not.
  • Jane Christensen

Well I hope I have it figured out! My rescue Wiley and Sage will be in the cool bathroom with the doors shut(less lightening). Bella will be out with her pups (who are in a fence along with Armani). Livvy my oops pregnant dog gets the bedroom alone cuz she doesn't like Wiley right now and she can go in the closet if she wants. Wynn is staying at work with Teddy and Jackson...he likes a break from all these women!!!!
  • Lisa

Thank you cutiepies Lucky and Sonny, from little LISA!
  • Jane Christensen

It's a zoo alright! But I love...except for it's also my 2nd full time job when I have pups. I'm on vacation next week and 2 pups leave so I'll have a month of quiet(???) before things get busy again. I am hoping to cut down to 25 hours at work also!!!!
  • Kristin & Archie

Thanks Carol, I'll be googling this afternoon!!!
  • Lisa

Oh, (Lisa's mom-me) is a nurse and hopes you heal up soon.
  • Hana

Jane is great. We are so glad that we were able to adopt Hana from her. Hana has great temper and keeps us busy as any corgi puppies would.
  • Heather Pinther

Thank you so much!!! We are very excited to get our new pup, I can hardly wait until September- never thought I'd wish my summer away.
We do have a name, Bowie Creedence. I always give my dogs middle names but I just call them by their first.
With Larry, the vet said he could have the surgery but there was no promise that he would be any better. I think you just have to know your dog. Larry followed me everywhere and was so active with our boys and everything else that I knew he wouldn't be happy on wheels. But it was so hard and I still miss him. :(
How many Corgis do you have?
I am a Corgi lover for life!
  • Christine

Will have my 2nd on the 6th of August :)
  • Beth

Hi Carol! Yes, my two do have the same blazes on their faces. People say they look like twins. They are closely related on the female side. I never got good pics til I splurged on a digital SLR camera; with a point-and-shoot, there is too much shutter lag and the dog has wandered off-screen before the pic is snapped.
I grew up with well-trained hunting dogs and I picked up a lot from my father, but knew nothing specifically about Corgis til we got ours. I do have a few books but nothing great; if you go to the bookstore or a big petstore, they should have series of books with all the different breeds. I got a lot of info here, and also some from www.pwcca.org. For training/behavior tips and discussions, I like www.theotherendoftheleash.com. Your dogs are very handsome. I give you a lot of credit for working with a wheelchair for Lucky.
  • Amber Rich

Puppy Einstein was a beginning Obedience class for puppies between 8-16 weeks old. That was just the name of the class :)
  • Roger/Laurie

Now that you have a tri and sable you can join the 2 different color corgi group. :) :)
My boys have a good corgi friend that is a sable and your's just looked so much like him. Thanks for the cart info. Tenby is so young I hope we will have some options, when the time comes. He is doing so well lately we have reduced his pain meds to once a day. We still give it twice a day on days he swims in the lake a lot. We try to keep him from jumping off things but that is nearly impossible.
We are going on vacation for 3 weeks in August and the boys favorite pet sitters are coming to stay with them. I think they spoil the boys more than we do. Our son lives in England and we try to get over as often as possible.
  • Jess Bonasso

Your corgis are adorable!! Thanks for welcoming me to the community. :)
  • Sandy Barnett

Thank You, for the warm welcome. My wee beasties names are Summer, she's a 4yo rescue from Palmetto Corgi Rescue and Brady, he's 2, was given to me by a family from Louisiana last fall (their loss is truely my gain). I'll post pictures when I figure out how.
  • Heather Pinther

Aww your message touched my heart. I saw your little guy on wheels and he is so cute. I can understand you not wanting to lose two at a time, I wouldn't either. I will post some pictures of our new puppy when we get him or her in september! Until then I get to admire yours and everyone elses :)
  • Heather Pinther

That sad she would say that, and how unhopeful. She must not make the connection. I read the last chapters of Job and see how God utterly loves creation and the animals He made. But like you said, people will believe what they want. So good for you for valuing the sacredness of life and how we are connected to it all. I know you made the right decision for your little guy. Blessed are the weak...
  • Roger/Laurie

We were surprized both boys took to the water so quickly. We moved to the lake when Chepstow was 2 and Tenby 1. They had never been in water (other than a bath) and they walked in and started swimming. Both have fallen off the boat, but they always have their lifejackets on. We stay mostly in Bristol, England and Chepstow, Wales. Yes...our boys are named after Welsh towns
  • ChelseyLynn

We were in Prineville, OR. We go and spend a week at the lake there. It was Diesel's first real camping/swimming trip! We love it over there! Nice change compared to the Seattle area!

I think ALL Corgis have special talents...it's just a matter of discovering them! Liza's my first --never thought I'd like a "small" dog. She quickly taught me, my alpha female, that's she's a Big Dog in heart, spirit, humor, and mojo! Would love to take her to herding school. She works from in front anticipating and blocking each step. As a puppy she was a biter--took a lot of work to get her to pull her punches. She still mouths and it is an unusual day that goes by without several "no teeth" reminders.
  • EvilTwin

Hi, is Lucky still a 2 wheel corgi? Ein was handicapped, he had a clubbed front leg. That didn't stop him though, he was my little bubby. It has taken me a while to get back on to this website, I get sad thinking about him. But really, he did have such a good life with us, so it's all good in the end. ;) Twinkie was a "foreclosure dog" - and Miss Lilly Munster was rescued from a shelter by a no kill shelter, they called me, and I got her asap!! My girls!!
  • EvilTwin

A lot of dogs lost their families when the family lost their home. It has been one of the problems since the housing market went south. Lilly is doing well, thank you. She is loving life with Twinkie, they are like sisters!! Her vet can not believe how healthy she seems now, which is good news! Her cancer presented itself in the form of a cord, which is so strange. I hope she is with me for a long time.
  • EvilTwin

By the way, my twin sister rescued a cat and a bunny via foreclosure. She can not have a corgi, so she got a bunny!
  • LISA & JP

Her name is JP. She is named after her daddy named Jack.
"Jack's Puppy" Her daddy is a family members dog.
  • LISA & JP

Yep that is her Dad. He has such a great personality and a perfect family dog that we wanted to get one of his puppies and hoped for the best. I think that JP is a lot like him but just a little stubborn. Her mom is stubborn where Jack is very persistant:)
  • Kathi Cipriano

Thank you for the welcome. Your pups are adorable!
  • Cassie Autumn Waddle

Well thank you :). I originally just had three cats. Then, i wanted to get ONE puppy and TWO kittens... and well, when i saw the ad in the paper for the kittens i got softhearted, and then when i finally found a corgi pup, and went to go pick one out, i got softhearted again! lol. Uhhh... they love each other. Except the older cats. But the older three like the kittens more than the pups. Which i'm not worried about. My corgi boys are trying to herd the kittens!
