I just can't get over how handsome Jones is. I thought I had the best looking sable on here. Dang! Does he produce sables in his litters? Any of his kids look just like him? I'd LOVE to have a clone.
  • Curt, Griffin and Violet

Ohhhh, your guys are so adorable! Thanks for your wishes, and a very happy set of holidays to you and the Corgis!
  • Sam Tsang

    Welcome to MyCorgi.com!
  • AllyP

Hi! We bought Fitz from a breeder in Hesperia, CA. Royal Hearts, I think... it's written down somewhere! He is just a doll, very funny personality.
  • Racquel

We found Max in the San Diego paper. A family in Oceanside was selling him. Not sure where he was bred.
  • Nancy Wilson

    Raylyn,
Thanks so very much,I really appreciate the comment....I love your pictures...it looks like you have a very wonderful bunch of criters...
  • Deanna

Raeylyn, just read your comment in Professional Corgis -- wow! I really admire you and your willingness, desire, and go-for-it attitude in givining up the grind and stress of a "professional" career to be a mom to all your furr kids -- actually, I'm somewhat jealous (but in a good way, LOL!) Can't wait for the day I can retire to a life similar to yours!
  • Sybil

Don't know Laurie. We do herding in Northern Cal and I'm always interested in hearing about others experiences. Glad to hear it's going well!
  • Miller!

    thanks for the welcome
  • Abbea and Vivi

Yeah, I always hear that from other corgi owners. They're the best dogs ever.

Is there any way to tell whether a dog will be a barker or not when they're still a puppy of about 8-12 weeks? Not that it would bother me, but I really don't want to get complaints from neighbors. I've heard of people (humanely) training their corgis not to bark and they say it's successful, so I can always resort to that I guess, right?
  • Abbea and Vivi

Well I hope you have luck with training your puppy not to bark. I've heard of a bark collar that's more humane than the shock collars that sprays a citronella solution if he barks. Apparently the harmless spray works just like using a spray bottle except the dog won't attribute it to his owner. I don't know if the smell hurts the dog's nose though.. Anyway, is using a spray bottle even humane? I see that a lot of people on here use that technique.

I love growl talking dogs though, lol. I wouldn't want them to stop doing that. It's good to know that you can train them not to bark but they will still "talk."
  • Juneaux and Maximus

yea she does sleep outside, but always has...at least for the last 4 months or so. she's more of an outside dog, but is let in for a few hours a day to be with us, and then we'll walk her, or throw the ball around with her out back. the excessive barking really just recently started, so i'm not too sure whats out there upsetting her. she really is all over the back yard, barking away. one thing i was thinking...we stayed the night at my inlaws a couple of weekends in a row, and took her with us. over there though, they have a couple of small dogs inside, so always insist she sleep indoors. maybe that could have something to do with it...what do you think?
  • Gail's Lil' Gizmo

your pictures are beautiful.. I love the black and white ones as well as the color ones. your dogs are beautiful and so are the horses. I have two horses. a NON-SPOTTED appaloosa and a Morgan. We used to team-pen alot - but now mostly trail ride for fun and relaxation. Gizmo - my tri boy loves to "help" me get the horses up for dinner. LOL Looks like you have a beautiful life - I thinks California is one of the prettiest places on earth.
  • Gail's Lil' Gizmo

That is awesome.. they ARE the most awesome little "dwarfs" so big in heart to be so short!!.. have a great weekend!! love, Gail, Gizmo, and Yogi.
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

Thank you for your kind words... When I went read about you and your life and your "kids" I thought I was reading about my life!! My mom lived in Grants Pass for 15 years. I traveled up there many many times. Scooter came from a breeder in Cave Junction! I lived in Atascadero for over 20 years. Had Quarter Horses and cowboyed at the Templeton Sales Yard for a living. Are you a member of the PCCHA? If you are do you know John and Cindy Dallaire? They are cutters too. They are my brother and sister in law. John was showing this past weekend I think in Paso. I haven't heard if he will be showing in the Derby~Classic Challenge or not. Scooter and I will be staying in Morro Bay for a few weeks starting this weekend. If John or Cindy will be showing Scooter and I will be there. Maybe we can meet face to nose!! I'd love to meet all your 4-legged kids too!!
  • Miller!

your dogs are beautiful! esp your sable... wow!
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

Hello we are in Morro Bay now. We have had some family problems so I have been very busy with that! I do want to get together before I head back to NV. I may be here most of the month. So we have some time yet. John said he was showing next week but I hope he will at least go and watch. If he does I want to go also. I will look you up if we get there!! If not maybe we can set up a meeting either here on the beach or over there. But after show week!! What do you think?
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

We were at the show last yesterday afternoon. John had changed his mind and entered. He told us he wouldn't be riding until 5:00. We got to the show at 3:30 and found out he was going in until around 8:00. So we missed his ride. We also missed you!! I will be heading back to Nevada the end of the week. BUT I will be back the second week of April. With the horse show and all lets plan on getting together then. Good luck in your rides this week!! Talk to you soon!
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

How did Richard do? Great I hope!
I'm heading home Friday. My husband misses me. But I'll be back in April. So we'll keep in touch and I'll let you know when I'm I'll be back!
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

Darn, Sorry to hear Richard got a bad cow! Tell him better luck next time! I will let you know next time I'm in town. Maybe we can meet on the beach for a long walk! So let's keep in touch!
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

Hi Raylin, How is everything going. I miss the warm weather. We are waiting for snow right now. It is cold and windy.
I have had quite time since we last wrote. I almost lost Scooter. She is one sick girl. For weeks she has been off. Couldn't put my finger on it just off. Anyway the longer I was in MB the more down hill she went. She started not to eat all her food. She didn't want to go to the beach and play. She was getting weak in the rear end and would have tremors. I make an appointment with our vet for Monday and headed home. By the time Monday came she had stopped eating all together. Her appointment was at 9:00 and by 9:30 she was in the hospital hooked up to IV's. Then the testing started. To make a long story short she was diagnosed with Addisons Disease and was in full blown Addisonian Crisis. She was in the hospital 2 days before I could bring her home. During a stress period (4 weeks ago she slab fractured a molar and had to have surgery to remove it) there was an imbalance of the electrolytes which damages the adrenal glands. Then it fails to produce sufficient corticosteroid hormones. So we are now trying to get her electrolytes and corticosteroid hormones levels in balance. But her adrenal glands will never product again. Anyway I'm telling you all this because I don't know what I'll be back in MB~~
Hope all is going well for you :-)
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

Thanks so much!! I can't think of anything right now. I will want to get the name of a GOOD vet for when we do get back over there. Just in case. I hope we can get her meds regulated soon so she will start feeling better. Then we can travel again. Right now I have cancelled all my travel plans. It's hard to watch her with these tremors. She acts like she is cold but is in the house. We got a couple inches of snow last night and it is cold. When she first started these tremors I ordered her a dog blanket from Dovers. It's lined and is made just like a horse blanket. I thought she was just getting cold outside. Little did I know it was going to turn into this. Anyway I'll put it on her today when we walk. Thanks so much for your support...
  • Carolyn Pippin and Gambler

Thanks for the name of your good vet. I'll forwarded to Jacque in MB so I will also have it down there.
Is Dave Exstine (not sure of the spelling of his last name?) your horse vet?
    Thanks again~~

  • Wendy Wagoner

Thank-you Raylyn! I was doing a search the other day for hearding classes and I found your post and this website. I was so excited!
My corgi is 4 months old and is taking basic ob. training at Canine Academy in Atascadero. I was going to take some agility classes but I'm a little limited with my mobility and can't run. I thought herding classes might suit me better. From what I've seen at sheepdog trails, the dog does all the running! I would love to get together for a play day in the future...just let me know. Have a Happy Easter!
  • Wendy Wagoner

    Hey Raylyn,
Yes, Canine Academy has puppy classes every Sat. at Specialty Pet Supply. Jazz, my Corgi, just completed puppy school. I'm a BIG fan of Canine Academy. This the second puppy I've taken to them. I wanted Dr. Holstein as my vet but I guess he's not taking any new patients. He has a great reputation! You can email me at purpledogww@yahoo.com anytime. Let's talk Corgi!
  • Larry or Marilyn Hughes

I hope my comment back got to you .It just vanished, but I saaid that Summa is starting to act lile a real boy DOG It's time for more training. Happy Easter!Larry and Marilyn
  • Wendy Wagoner

    Hi Raylyn,
I did get a reponse from Laurie yesterday about herding classes. My current training at Canine Academy is also Wed. evenings. So, as soon as that is completed, I plan on taking some classes with Laurie. I did find a herding event coming up in May that I would love to go to. Also, I found a Summer camp in Cayucos for herding dogs...you might already know about this. If not, let me know and I'll get you more info. I look forward to meeting you and your Corgis in the furture!
  • Wendy Wagoner

That does sound like a lot of fun! I look forward to joining you in a few weeks. I'll try to get that summer camp info for you today. Jazz has ob. training this evening. I think we're having a sit/stay contest tonight. Wish me luck!
  • Linda Brock

I have a friend that lives near Grants Pass... It is beautiful country. I was able to visit her several years back. I have three horses myself, but two of them are older (23 & 20) and I can't ride any longer because of my hip and back. The pic of your boy is really beautiful.
  • Nicole

I think your pup may be related to Penny - Penny's mother was Rhonda from Cynthia's Stablemate Kennel. Do you recall the parents name?
  • Nicole

I just saw a later post - they are related! Stablemates George Jones is Penny's Grandfather (I think) def. in her tree though
  • Wendy Wagoner

    Hi Raylyn,
Just got back from Santa Rosa. It was Jazz's first road trip and she behaved herself quiet nicely. My parents loved her! The sit/stay contest was moved to this week. I'm glad it was moved because Jazz was very distracted for some reason last week. For more info on the summer camp I was talking about...it's Windsong Stockdogs in Cayucos. You can email Kathy Warren at: villacreek@gmail.com. I'm not sure what the website address is but you can find it if you Google Windsong Stockdogs. Let's try to talk sometime this week. You need to let me know how I can spice up my MyCorgi page. I love your slide show!
  • Kimber-Leigh May

I wish i knew a place real close i could take Favorite for herding training she would get a huge kick out of it. Your dogs are super super gorgeous they are like rare pieces of painted arts its crazy. But i had noticed that you were into herding and i had seen this video and thought you would find it remotely amusing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2FX9rviEhw
  • Kimber-Leigh May

    You are very welcome!
  • Wendy Wagoner

    Hi Raylyn,
Jazz did finish training last week so I'm excited about trying herding! Next week is the last week of the semester at Cuesta. I want to wrap that up first...I would like to start herding on the 27th of May. I'm going to send Laurie an email today or tomorrow. I'm also thinking or trying Rally Obedience in June. Hope you and your Corgis are doing well and I look forward to meeting you soon!
    -Wendy
  • Wendy Wagoner

School is finally over so my schedule is a little more open through the summer. Jazz gets spayed tomorrow. I'm thinking of starting some herding the first week of June...June 3rd. So I'll probably will see you then! Hope you and your Corgis are doing well!
  • Wendy Wagoner

    Hey Raylyn,
Jazz's stitches come out today. I'll be ready to start June 10th....FINALLY!
Jazz will be six months old this weekend and she's ready to roll. I'll see you both next wed.
    -Wendy
  • Melissa S.

i absolutly luv luv your sable pups color!!!!!! when i get my female thats exactly how i want her to look
  • Wendt Worth Corgi's

Hi Raylyn....I so want a dark sable like your boy. Love that coloring. Your lucky and I'm jealous. LOL
  • Wendt Worth Corgi's

Good luck with that litter and do keep me posted. I have a female in the first stages of labor. First time mom so I'm nervous for her, already gave the vet a heads up so he won't be surprised to get my call if I need him. Keeping my fingers crossed for you but I'm sure its not needed.
  • Wendt Worth Corgi's

They are doing well. Thanks for asking. She had me up all night but finally had them starting yesterday morning. 7 pups in total but one little girl was born w/no vitals and even though I did my best for quite sometime, she never came through w/the slightest of light of hope. The rest are doing great and 1st time mom did awesome. There are 4 boys and 2 girls and they all have white on their face...a very attractive looking group.
  • Melissa S.

Jones is soooooo beautiful, my dream is to own a female with sable markings like his! stunnung stunning boy :)
  • Melissa S.

    You are very welcome!! :)
  • Avyon

Raylyn I'm sorry about my earlier comments. I'm so used to teens and younger people using caps just to get attention instead of using actual text to talk. I keep forgetting that this is an all around age populace and a very diverse group of people. When the eye sight thing was mentioned I felt so bad because I took a course on 508 compliance (allowing the blind to use the net).

Do what you have to do and don't let us net addicts tell you otherwise :)
  • Melissa S.

So did your handsome Jones boy and his lil lady have beautiful baby's??
  • Melissa S.

oh nooo I am soo sorry! Thats just awful! At least your girl is ok and healthy!
